That's awesome, especially for 3 days! Wow! What kinds of things are you decluttering?

So far I'm at 700. But only maybe 60 of that is from this month. I do have one last donation pickup scheduled for this year - Dec. 28. And I have a few big big piles in my basement for that. So I think I can hit 1000.

But. Even if I don't, it's okay. There are 700 fewer items in my house. I never have to look at them again. Or fret about finding a place for them. Or clean them. Or even think about them. It feels great.
700 items is awesome! I wish I could get 700 items out of here! I certainly wouldn't call that slacking off

Quick reply to say I'm in. (I still need to go back and read the rest of the thread...) We are just moving into a new house and I'd like half of the stuff that we brought with us to go. Also, this is the perfect time for me to declutter to gear up for the treasure map that I've learned about from Tracy.

ETA: Oh I can start my list with 1 item. We got rid of this huge monstrosity of an entertainment center. Dh put it outside by the curb the night before bulk would have come to pick it up. Sure enough, someone came about an hour later with a pickup truck and took it. I'm glad it got reused.
Sometimes it really is easier to put stuff out by the curb so that people can just take. I told my Dh we should just put some of the bigger items out with a sign that says "Free to good home"

I decluttered several clothing items and lots of items from the fridge (lots of old containers that have been stuffed in the back of cupboards) The other big items were in the bathroom, old products that I keep thinking I'll use but never get too.

130/150 and still going!!

We have alley vultures that scavange our trash---on the other hand when something that's been in your house forever gets put out---and no one takes its---you know throwing it out was totally the right thing to do.

Loon!
I was just thinking about you today! My daughter wore her favorite butterfly tights today (from that amazing box you sent me earlier in the year from the RAOK thread?) and it just made me smile as she pointed to each butterfly and shrieked with excitement. She loves them!

It's not silly to post 2 items! And you reminded me that I threw out 9 socks this week because of holes. I don't know why I kept washing and wearing them, they drove me nuts!
But thanks! Now I can add 9 to my total!

Oh, I'm so glad she loves them! It makes me smile to think of her.
My dd hates tight things of any kind, so tights naturally do not appeal to her.
Oh and I should be up moved up there in the next week or so!

Back to your regularly scheduled thread...

319/500 old total

Sigh....with all the presesnts yesterday I feel like we added about equal to what I've gotten rid of. Not really, but with the only grandchildren and 2 sets of doting grandparents and 6 aunts and uncles (plus 3 great aunts and uncles and a great granmother) who want to buy something for each of them and us.....well, you get the idea.

Anyway,
I threw away a worn out pair of shoes and 2 pairs of worn-out slippers.
Also, in the trash a dog knicknak that I bought at a yard sale when I was 10 or so. His head bobbed and he WAS really cute. He had lost his cuteness, no longer bobbed his head and wasn't really bringing joy any longer so he went. I have put off getting rid of him for years - that was really hard for me.

323/500 I'm ready to get to work!

I finally cleaned out the litter box - does that count?

I untangled a box of cords and threw out broken ones, plus old bent curtain rods and some trash. One little plastic grocery bag full. But it felt good.

I threw out:

2 bags of trash
a broken lamp
a broken lap desk thing

Huzzah!
