"Founder put infant nutrition at heart of the group"
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...478706,00.html

Quote:
Baby nutrition is at the heart of Nestlé and motivated its founder to develop the first infant formula, a product that has swept across the world and provoked controversy, particularly in Britain.
I actually do believe that Henri Nestle was a good and honorable man who has helped save the lives of countless infants. But I don't believe for a second that Nestle is carrying on his "good work".

Dang. I just threw up a little again.

The language they use drives me crazy... "Give your baby the BEST start in life." GRRRRRR! : It's so misleading!

No words just... :Puke

You know, with all the other things listed that Nestle does (just read first and last few sentences) they really have *no* excuse, not even financial, for selling formula as anything other than what it was originally designed for--feeding starving babies who have no other recourse.

It's like Phillip-Morris, they have Kraft, whyTF do they need tobacco?

That actually made me laugh, especially the "Baby nutrition is at the heart of Nestle" line.

I agree that is a crock!

but as an off topic issue...I *really* hate this expression:
"This made me throw up in my mouth a little"
I realize that this has become a very popular phrase to say, but that does not make it any easier to stomach. I read this thread title this morning after making myself some nice eggs and wheat toast, and I totally could not eat it it after reading your title. I have read this expression around the boards several times recently--I get that it is suppose to be funny and convey a sense of outrage and sickness over a certain subject, but it is just gross.

Maybe no one else agrees with me and I am being too sensitive about it, but that and the vomit smiley are just offensive, in my opinion.

I think it's terrible journalism. How can they even address the history of Nestle without alluding to the boycott and the millions of African "bottle baby" deaths?

I like the vomiting smilie...sometimes there are just no other words

Oh, and:

food developed in the laboratory.
Mmmm. My mouth is watering. *note the sarcasm...*

Unfortunately it always comes back to greed where big business is involved, no matter what they try to convince the unsuspecting public of!! :Puke
Sorry LisainCalifornia, but that smilie discribes exactly how I feel, and I must admit I kinda like it. :

And also in Dutch, French, German, Italian, and a few other languages. That's how I came up with it.
