I'm glad to have made it (just about, anyway) until December to birth this babe. The birthstone is prettier, imo. I know that's a lame reason to want to wait until tomorrow to have a baby, but I don't care.

So, after reading this I had to look up the birthstone for December. I love the tanzanite! My twins are June babies, so pearls for them. I just went and told my dh how lovely a necklace with 2 pearls and a tanzanite would be in a silver setting... He's not very good at getting hints, but, then again, I wasn't very subtle.

my edd is the third according to my day of o, but on my midwifes little wheel it came up the 4th, an u/s said the 7th or 9th. So I picked the 5th and have been going by that. I figure the full moon would help.

That sounds beautiful! I hope you get that necklace.

An alternative for the December birthstone is blue topaz, which is similar in color to tanzanite and is sometimes listed as the birthstone for this month.

I've also heard turquoise mentioned, although I think blue topaz is the legit one tanzanite too
