Just a quick note to let you all know that our daughter was born on Sunday night and we arrived home yesterday. After some 24 hours of labor with an absolutely amazing support team, things suddenly went from 60 to zero. My labor stalled after what appeared to be a lengthy but progressive labor (vomiting, contrax getting closer and closer until they were on top of one another, etc). I hadn't wanted to know how far dialated I was, but my midwife said it was time I knew. I was only 4 cm and the baby was still high up, but her heartbeat was still strong and steady. The backup OB and the midwife gave us the option of trying pitocin or going with a cesarean. My gut instinct was to go for the cesarean. I had to wait a while since there was a shift change, but got a bit of rest with some stadol as my contrax petered out. No one told me right away, but I later learned that there was a window in my uterus and it was a good thing we didn't go for the pit.
So I'm feeling like I've been through the wringer, but trying to rest and enjoying our little flower!
