What is your getaway plan with DH? We're headed to Sanibel isalnd Florida for a week - my parents gave us their timeshare week so we have free lodging...and hopefully, we'll just lay in the sun!
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday morning? Reading the New york times and eating breakfast with DH, then going for a hike (we dont go to church so the hiking is our spiritual family time)
Do you write poetry or just enjoy reading it? I write a little poetry, but mostly I just read it.
What is your favorite hobby? Probably would be Wakeboarding with traveling Hiking and camping coming up as close seconds
What was your favorite comfort food as child? As an adult? I dont remember what it was as a kid, but as an adult, its between mashed potatoes and my DH's wonderful white bean and garlic soup.
If you could describe yourself as a color, what would you be? A sunny Yellowish orange
Any idea how many children you'd like? Two. I would love one of each gender, and plan to have them at least 3 years apart, if not more (like 4 or 5 years apart would be ideal in my mind.
How did you meet your DH? How long have you been together? We met after college, through my best friend - she went to college with my DH, and we all lived in Philadelphia together and started hanging out in the same crowd. I knew almost right away that he was *the one* -- and then it turned out our parents went to High School together, and we grew up in towns next door to eachother, went to the same summer camps and stuff like that... We've been together since 1997. We Married in 2001.
Do you have any vibes as to whether your going to have a boy or a girl? I think its going to be a boy for some wierd reason...and so do a lot of other people. my dad confessed this morning that he thinks/hopes it will be a girl. DH feels clueless and is excited and nervous for either.
What is your favorite Philly restaurant? There are many to choose from! Vietnam in Chinatown, Brigids in the Art Museum Area, Dahlak's Ethiopian Cuisine in West Philly
How did you learn about MDC and homebirthing for your first time? My cousin is a homebirther, so she shared her stories and that's what led my to homebirth as a choice for myself. Somebody on another board referred me to mothering for specific info on homebirth midwives.
Do you feel prepared for having a baby in the house? Yes and no. As for "Having/ Birthing" the baby in the house -- i feel pretty prepared for that. I love my midwives and my mom and they will all be there, and I feel way way happier and confident knowing I am having the baby at home than going somewhere else (and rather than potentially having to defend my choices and fight for what I want in a hospital). As for having the baby in the house...meaning, having them physically live here, well i feel like I would like the hosue to be a little less cluttered and a little more put together before the baby comes and lives here full time! (nesting instincts I guess!)
What is your fave way to relax? Lots of ways to relax that i lvoe....Swimming, Yoga, Doing guided visualization, meditation, listening to great music or just hanging out by a bonfire with friends.
