Woke this morning at 2:35 to a slow leak of clear fluid. No contractions so far at 3:05 so we're staying home a bit and will see what happens. Hey, at least I don't have to pay the $15 copay for my appt today!!
Is it normal to be kinda shaky and nervous?! You'd think this was my first baby instead of my third.
I'll try to update but if not you'll get the full scoop soon!
UPDATE - He's here!!! Our baby boy Devan Jeremiah came on Friday night at 9:36PM, weighing 7 lb 6 oz. Mini birth story is that after my water began leaking at 2:35am I putzed around the house without any contractions. Finally about 9am I called the OB office and they gave me free reign to basically come in within 24 hours of that time, but recommended I come in during the day sometime. I tried walking and other forms of natural augmentation but finally after no contractions we went to the hospital in the afternoon. Contractions started at about 3:30 pm but were very far apart and mild. The OB came in at 7pm and gave me the 24 hour speech, no progress, since I wouldn't consent to pitocin we'd need a csection...blah blah blah. She left to give us time to talk and I had a major contraction. They started coming every two minutes, lasting a minute long. So painful, back labor, just absolute pain. I was of course trying to move around in the bed with the monitor and they kept losing the signal, telling me to lay still. Right! Finally, one nurse came in and told me to get on my hands and knees and she'd hold the monitor for me. Turns out she'd had all 6 of her babes at home in Nebraska, they'd just moved here. She was so calm and nice, baby turned from posterior to anterior in one contraction and then the back labor was gone. But the pain was so bad from having to lay in that bed that after an hour I requested an epidural. Had the epidural at about 9pm and went from 3 to pushing in 15 minutes, with baby going from -2 to +2 station in that time period. Yikes! Pushed through three contractions and out he came!
Short fast labors suck. Especially in the hospital.
We're home and doing great, BF is going just fine and he's a great little addition to our family.
Congrats to all the other Dec mamas so far!
