Who is/was expecting a surprise baby?

Just curious about who doesn't/didn't know baby's gender before the birth.

We don't know . It's fun not knowing!

So what do you think you are having? And what is your success rate guessing with the other kids?

We didn't find out, either. I had a slight feeling that she was a girl, but I didn't feel that strongly about it. It was strange- when she was born, I reached down and touched her and was just looking at her, but it didn't even occur to me to wonder about gender. It wasn't till someone else said, "It's a girl!" that I realized .. "Oh yeah, it was going to be one or the other.."

I really don't know for sure. If I *had* to guess, I'd say BOY. I never really guessed with the others. I knew with the boys, but not the girls. I was surprised I had a girl when Hannah was born. Then I was hoping Kayla was a girl so Hannah had a sister, and she was a girl. I'm hoping this is a boy, because I think they would love having a little brother.

! That is really cool! I'm wondering who will announce the gender of this one. I'm hoping DH or one of the other kids get to!

We're anxiously waiting to find whether we're having a boy or a girl. Our boys our convinced they're getting a baby sister. We've specifically asked our midwife and doula that either dh or our boys announce the gender. It's in our birth plan!

Moi. I guessed boy with gracie, she came out and dh said, "oh look, he's a girl..."

I'm guessing boy again, but this time I'm feeling sure enough that we're having the great circ discussion at our house.

We don't know either. We haven't had any u/s and didn't with ds either. I thought for the first few months that ds was a girl, but when I started to show everyone even strangers were telling me that I was having a boy.
I keep going back and forth with this one thinking one day boy and the next day girl. I feel like I am carrying the same way as I did with ds and eating all the same foods except with ds I ate pancakes for breakfast every morning and this time I've been eating eggs every morning. I am really excited about getting to meet this little one.

I keep telling people that I am going to birth twin 13-foot-long octopus babies.

Genders unknown !

We didn't know what we were having either. I sorta liked it that way, but now we don't have ANY boy clothes! OH well guess I'll just have to go SHOPPING! I honestly didn't even THINK about the gender when he came out, I just wanted to see him, then my DH said "It's a BOY!" and I was honestly shocked because I thought this entire time, and so did most of my DH's family, that he was a girl! Now I honestly wouldn't trade him for the world!

That is so funny. I laugh when people say "oh so it's a surprise". I always say well not really - it's either a boy or girl. A surprise would be if it came out and was a monkey or a chicken.

Until yesterday I worked in a bank... we have a regular customer who comes through the drive through usually. I am just short enough that the drive thru counter hides my belly. So this customer comes inside one day and didn't realize that I was pregnant, and said "Oh, what are you having??"... I couldn't resist the setup and I said "A baby."

Anyway. We chose to be surprised. Our dr took a peek at the gender at our u/s, and both DH and I were looking right at the screen when she was, but it was towards the end of the u/s and we were both sortof spacing out. But if I had been paying attention at all then I probably would have a guess too.

I'm glad at this point that we didn't find out though. My feeling based on my chart is that it's a girl though. Plus whenever I've referred to the baby in a gender-specific pronoun and didn't think about it, I've said "she" all the time.

8 days until my due date.... so probably 15-22 days until he/she gets here.

We don't know either. I say boy, EVERYONE else says girl We have a girls name ready, but are still milling over the boys name. We have had the circ discussion as well

RoomforMore: I have it in our birth plan too that DH is to announce the gender of baby

We don't know. I've had 4 boy dreams (one was an ultrasound dream where I could look into my womb and see a boy- although he had pig tails, which is another story).
DD swears it's a girl. She won't even consider it could be a boy- she is adamant that it's a girl. She talks about her sister all the time and tells strangers we are having a girl. Considering she's 3, I'm not sure who's intuition to put more faith in- hers or mine.

Finding out soon! So glad we waited- it really is fun!

We don't know either and it is very exciting. W/ both of the boys I just new they were boys and I was right. This time I am thinking maybe girl but now feeling very firm about it. Since we have never known the gender until birth I have tons of 0-3 month gender neutral clothes and a good amount of them will work for winter.
We also told the midwife we wanted dh to announce the gender but if one of the kids does it that would be ok too.
Oooh I am getting so excited.

We don't know what we're having either.

For our first child, never really had a feeling either way(that was a girl).

Second child, I just "knew" it was a boy(I was right).

Third child, had no idea(that was a boy),

and this one don't really have any idea either, though I'm guessing boy, and the rest of the family is guessing girl.

It's exciting to know we'll be finding out somewhat soon. Sara

Have no idea... thought both my last 2 boys were girls. Uh, they weren't. We would like a girl this time, but I have no reliable intuition.

We don't know either (but can't wait to find out!!!)

I think it is a boy, not sure why and people tell me it looks like I am carrying a boy...but I had a very vivid dream the other night that it was a girl....

We will shortly find out!!!

We don't know, either. I'm thinking it's a girl but have always thought my babies were girls. I have 3 boys. I'm notorously wrong about these things but am convinced I've got to be right at least once!

We don't know either, I am actually really glad we haven't had an ultrasound at all this pregnancy. Even if we did, I wouldn't want to know though. I would love a girl, but a brother for DS would be great too. Boys run in this family, so we will see.

Ours is a surprise

I was quite sure ds1 was a girl. I guess I couldn't imagine having a boy, both of us having mostly sisters (I have 2, dh has 10). We each only have one brother. So I was VERY surprised when he was born.
With ds2 I *knew* he was a boy. People laugh when I say that, but I just knew it. I didn't even think about it being a girl. I didn't go out and buy boy things or anything, but when he was born, they said 'It's a boy' and I said, 'I know that!' Like a big smart aleck.

This time I really truly don't know or have any intuition one way or the other.
