Steph, which IUD did you get? How do you like it so far? I'm thinking about one too.

Nope, and I really want to give my 3 boys the attention I feel they deserve for the next few years before even considering another...but since we haven't planned any of our pregnancies before I realize that I will have to deal with whatever reality awaits us.

I got the Mirena. So far, it's fine. I've had it just over a month and I've either spotted/bled for probably 3 weeks of that time. It's an inconvenience, but the dr told me to be prepared for it for the first 3 months. I did have a solid week of light bleeding but now it's pretty much tapered off to barely spotting, so I think we're headed in the right direction.

Insertion was uncomfortable but not unbearable. The dr's office gave me 600mg of ibuprofen at the appt, but it would be better to take it in advance. I had cramping the first 2 days.

Plus, for me, my insurance paid all but $25 for it, so I just couldn't find a less expensive alternative (NFP and the like are not for me. )
