Hello everyone!!

I finally have time to kinda update you all on the birth of our beautiful baby boy!! First of all i would like to congratulate everyone on the birth of their babies and also would like to let those know who haven't had their babies yet to just hang in there!!!

Not sure if many of you remember but I had contractions for a few days that would last 6 hours and then would go away etc....this went on from friday until well basically until I was in real labour on monday!! I woke up feeling the same....a little crampy but I wasn't too worried about it so I went along with the regular business.....got DD off to school.....brought DS to kindemusik....then went with DP to his mom and dad's.....I had a few contractions there and the in laws were all excited and I told them not to worry about it because contractions have come and gone for three days and I didn't think it was anything to worry about. DP and I picked up DS from kindermusik and went home....at around 3pm I went to jump in the shower because I hadn't yet and I went to the washroom and sure enough there was my mucous plug tinged with blood. (I had been checking the toilet paper everytime I wiped for what seemed like years and finally this time I saw IT!!!) We then packed up the kids and drove two hours to the nearest city......contractions on the way were speratic and I was laughing and joking the whole way with the kids!! It was great. The in laws followed us in their two vehicles (mom, dad and four siblings) When we got to the city we decided it was too early to go to the hospital so we went for something to eat.....I couldn't eat but ordered some toast and only managed to get two bites down......by the time everyone was done eating my contractions were way stronger and closer together.....we decided to get the kids and their aunties and uncles checked into a hotel room so they could wait there while DP and I went to the hospital to see what was going on.....so we got to the hospital and the nurse checked me there and said I was only 2-3 cm but she could stretch me to 8cm?!?!?!?!?! I was very confused...what the heck did that mean?!?!?!?! I went with it and she asked me to stay considering this was my third etc..... I walked with DP all around L&D and before I knew it they moved me into the delivering room to check me again.....same thing...no progress!!! the nurse knew something was up (the baby was in a weird postion) I was having awful painful back labour. She wanted the baby to turn so she suggested different positions to try which i did.....on all fours over the bed worked and felt the best!!! I did this for an hour or so and then I felt like I had to push....the nurse checked me and I was 7-8 cm dialated but she could stretch me fully!?!?! to make an already long story short the baby was face up instead of face down crowning so the doctor had to go inside and tilt the babies head down......he also broke my water....the baby ended up turning while I was pushing and came out sideways sorta!!! yep you read it right...SIDEWAYS!!! his head came out and was against my left thigh and then the one shoulder was stuck....all the pushing in the world wouldn't of ever dislodged him....the nurse had to basically jump on my stomach to get him out.....she came over on my right side and just jumped on my stomach and out popped his shoulder and the yest of him too!!!! He face was completely bruised and swollen from being face up during labour but other then that he was and is perfect!!! The nurse told me that if the baby was in the correct position that my labour would of been at least three hours shorter.....throughout this whole time the doctor and nurse were great!!! All my needs were met....I never got asked for pain medication, the cord wasn't clamped until after it stopped pulsating....the baby was given directly to me.....everything on my birthing plan was done and met without questions!!! it was great!!! I had the most caring doctor in the world who took his time with the placenta even though there were two others in labour at the same time as me!!! He was great and I will never forget his loving eyes!!! So there you kinda have it!!! Jaxon Lee, 9lbs, 4 oz, 20.8 inches long, 35.5 head circumference!! He was nursing unbelievably well right from day one and his sister and brother are soooooo proud of him!!!! No jealousy issues as of yet which is great!!

Here are some pictures of him minutes after he was born and one day old....I will update them again soon considering he is already 18 days old!!!!http://www.freelanceva.com/jaxon.html
