I'm a bottomless pit!

Okay - well, maybe "bottomless" was the wrong word given my pants size lately I'm trying to gently lose my pregnancy weight, but I can't stop eating. My little girl nurses around the clock - and she has started nursing longer. I remember this feeling from nursing DS. I can literally be hungry ten minutes after eating a meal. Tonight I had a nice balanced dinner. While I was putting the dishes and leftovers away half an hour later, I grabbed a spoon and ate just about all the left over rice. It is a really strong hunger, and it drives me nuts. I can't count all the snacks I've had today (though I try to keep to things like nuts, fruit, etc, there are still christmas cookies popping up around the house that I have to resist).

Anyone else feel like they are eating all the time? What are your tips for snacking and controlling the hunger? Are there any magic foods that curb the breast-feeding hunger (oatmeal, rice??) Just had to vent...

Same here! It's just downright annoying! So far I haven't found a magical, filling food that will keep the hunger at bay so I'll watch this thread to see if anyone else has ideas.

I am having the opposite problem, I can't seem to get enough to eat. Part of the problem is I have eliminated wheat and dairy from my diet, so that has ruled out some of my favorite foods. So eating has lost some of it's pleasure for me.

I have a bowl of hard boiled eggs in the fridge. When I am REALLY starving and have my arms full of nursing babies I can still manage to eat one. That is if i remember to peel them in advance. Otherwise it is a bit trickier.

I've been starving as well. I was this way with dd1, it wasn't until she was 6 months old that I finally was able to lose the last few pg lbs when I stopped eating everything in sight. I have to eat quite a bit at each meal, something heavier, a big bowl of yogurt just doesn't cut it.

I'm glad I'm not the only one! I have the same never-ending strong hunger...you know that hunger for a real meal (that I never can seem to make with my baby that cries from 5pm until 11 ). Sometimes I get a craving to eat a whole plate full of vegetables.

My magic food is Frosted Mini Wheats...it satisfies my sweet tooth and has tons of fiber to fill me up. If you're avoiding dairy, use rice or soy milk. Plus, it's easy to fix .

I feel the same way! Thank goodness it is not just me. I remember this from my 2nd but not my 1st and 3rd. weird huh! I hope it ends soon.

Same here, I'm waaaaay more hungry than I was even when I was pregnant!
I have to snack all day! I hope it ends soon, I have a lot of weight to lose, and bfing isn't helping.

Yep - I'm a ravenous beast as well. I eat all.day.long! Somehow I've managed to get within 5 pounds of my prepregnancy weight, but for the life of me I couldn't tell you how. I wasn't like this at ALL with my first - but I was starving during that pregnancy, and not with this one. Wierd.

I just inhaled 2 pieces of pizza and a candy bar for a "midnight snack"! : I had salmon, rice, and peas for dinner - plus a bowl of cherries, countless snacks, etc...I am glad I'm not the only one! Both girls have been sick and wanting to nurse like crazy so I am a milk factory right now...maybe I should go eat something else!

I'm another opposite. I go for so long without eating that I'll get faint. DH has written "EAT!!" all over the computer, the fridge and pinned it up in various places around the house to remind me to eat something -- anything!

Yet I've only lost 9lbs.

OMG I'm so hungry all the time;I crave real food, only I don't really have time to make it, so I don't eat because nothing looks good enough, until I'm really hungry, then I could eat just about anything (including my girls school snacks). I thought I was the only one it feels like I'm preggo all over again (I'm not though )

I'm some sort of weird mix. There are days where I have to be reminded to eat - and there are days where I can't stop eating! And of COURSE for the first time in my life I'm craving chocolate [bizarre for me, as I hate chocolate]. And my little guy is nursing 'round the clock, yet I've gained weight /: It's the stupid chocolate. @_#
