I saw some really BAD babywearing today.

I saw a man riding a bike very quickly down a crowded city sidewalk with a baby in a Bjorn! The baby did have a helmet on, but he did not. He could only steer the bike with one hand, since you have to lean over to grip the handlebars, his other hand was supporting the baby. How dangerous! Think of all the things that could happen. It wasn't even a street I'd feel completely comfortable riding a bike on by myself just for the traffic. :

Really? OMG. He could only steer with one hand, and weaving through people on a crowded sidewalk.

I meant that I see people riding bikes while wearing a Bjorn all the time (not the sidewalk and one-handed part)

I don't think that's a very good advertisement for their product.

Doesn't one of the German wrap makers (I think either Didy or Storch) have a photo of a baby in a wrap with the wearer perched on a bike seat? I always thought "I wouldn't want to advertise my product that way." Doesn't seem like a good idea for liability reasons!

I live in the Netherlands and I used to frequently ride my bike wearing my baby in a didymos or Bjorn (without helmets), and it felt much safer than you might think. Stable bikes are rather easy to ride one-handed.

a few months ago I saw my neighbor outside fertilizing his yard, surrounded by a cloud of dust, and then realized that his little baby was in a bjorn on him. :
