Mucus Plug Question...

How different is the mucus plug from regualr discharge? I have had discharge throughout the pg which is expected. The past week or so it has been quite heavy. WARNING...TMI coming ahead....Today I kinda felt like I wet myself and when I wiped there was a lot fo clear discharge. So I'm wondering was that just a lot of discharge or was it my mucus plug? Will it look differently? I know it can be blood stain but it is usually clear? How much should one expect? Will it be just a lot or an obscene amount?

BTW...I'm due on Friday, so I know I am close...I hope!

A huge giant booger acctually, it's pretty firm like a booger...that's what mine was tonight

A giant booger sitting on...well I had a BM and it was sitting on top of that (I love low water toilets)

I haven't DTD in months...lol...DH is too freaked out about it...

Mine's been coming out in globs... had the same situation as Pandora earlier, but I don't think it was the whole thing. It was more than I'd seen so far though. It came out on the TP when I wiped and it was kind of greenish and was pretty much just really, really gross. I have increased CM as well, but it's certainly not the same consistency.

Since Friday night I've had lots of increased discharge, but it's mostly just like egg-whites...nothing bloody about it. But it's definately a huge increase. I did some internet searching and found references that it might be indicative of 'early outer cervical opening' -- whatever that might mean.

FWIW, nesting kicked in yesterday evening and I've been having strong, but irregular contractions for about 12 hours now.

Don't know if anything will happen or if I just have a terrible case of insomnia tonight...

It's thick & very different from any other kind of discharge you've ever had. Like a pp said, it's just like a ball of snot. You'll know for sure what it is when/if you see it.
