Just got home a few hours ago.
Natalie Paige was born on Friday, December 1st at 5:09am. We had a successful VBA2C, but it wasn't as natural as I had hoped it would be. I'll post the whole birth story later, but probably not for a few days.
~ 8lbs. 2.2oz.
~ 21 inches long
~ Wee bit of light brown hair.
~ Blue Eyes
~ Long Fingers and Long toes, just like her daddy
~ Great nurser - took to the breast IMMEDIATELY!
She had passed meconium, so she came out all yellow and she needed to be suctioned. Other than that, there were no problems. Well . . . I did have a small 2nd degree tear that needed some suturing. And my hemmorhoids flaired up so badly that I needed to have them taken care of - Dr Van Gorp ended up cutting them open and plucking out all the blood clots. I hurt SO BADLY from that. And I'm bleeding more from that than my uterus! If you can believe that.
DH was wonderful. Guess he did a lot better than other dad's
Our Doula was amazing and I don't think we would have been successful if she hadn't been there. My labor started on wednesday evening (well, was prodromaling since the friday before she was born), got to the hospital around 4am, Natalie was born at 5:09am on Thursday. So a really long hard labor. But pushing lasted little less than an hour and was the most rewarding part.
Back labor was strong, vomited I don't know how many times. It was interesting, but I'd do it all over again!
