my dad's gone

I am so numb, my Dad died last night after 6 weeks in intensive care. It was a roller coaster, better, worse, up and down. I really thought he was going to make it. He has fought hard health battles before and always done just great. It is my DD's birthday tomorrow, she will be 2. Mom said we should still have the family birthday party so we are. My other DD is 8 and cried herself to sleep tonight. It is so hard....

I am going through a death of beloved friend right now....hang in there and hopefully on your DD's B-day you can celebrate her wonderful life as well as the times you and your family had with your dad.

I'm so sorry.

I lost my dad 3 days before my son's second birthday. That was a hard day to get through.

Every year, I have to get past that day before I can really look forward to my son's birthday, but I do get past it. My son's special day is no longer overshadowed by my dad's death.

I wish that for you.

last year my dad died one month before my son turned 4.
it still hurts.
I wrote my dad's birthday in my calendar for this year. In 3 weeks he would have been 79.

it is hard. I know.. HUGS TO YOU.

PS. I am glad you are still celebrating your son's birthday.
it is important. imo.

I'm so sorry My dad is not here with us either anymore and as the birthdays have come and gone over these past months I feel sad to know that he is missing them and that we are missing sharing so much with him.

I used to think that when people said 'so and so has lost someone' that it was a way not to say the 'd' word but when my dad died I did feel truly lost. Someone who had always been there for me had gone and I felt very alone.

Be kind to yourself and don't be afraid to feel however you are feeling.

thank you so much mamas

Jenny Jane, Avena, Cachelle-a-tron, caeden & connersmom, MsCatsAlot,StormCat, box of rain, Tracey, orangefoot, thank you so much for your kind words and warm support. Although I do not personally know you, your words mean so much to me. Although I can make no sense of my dad's death, I remember that there are these amazing mamas out there that are helping to hold me up and I am not alone. I can really feel that from you. As a thanks I will try to do for others what you have done for me. This reminds me that when I was young my dad was always stopping along the road to help others, he was pretty handy at fixing cars and just about everything else too. Thanks for the reminder. P.S. we had the birthday party and it was very nice, great to be together and think about how happy it is to be two, my older DD lit a candle next to grandpa's photo so it felt like he was here with us.
