Question re newborn pouches

I am considering getting a HotSling for my next baby, but I have a question that may sound rather silly... How much air circulation is there going to be in a sling? If a newborn is laying in the sling, they are pretty much enclosed, right? Wouldn't air circulation be limited? Or am I missing something all together?

Just make sure that your sling isn't too big. You can always lay a receiving blanket in the sling first to help "prop" your baby up.

I am so confused about sizing as well - I could be a 3, 4, or 5.

My DS was always tummy to tummy in his pouch as a newborn, it would leave just his face out and the rest of him covered

Well, I believe the fabrics are breathable and they are cradled with their face upwards. So it's not like you're laying them in a non-breathable fabric or "enclosing" them inside the sling per se. Even when my daughter would burrow her face into the sling between my armpit and breast, she was still able to breathe. There is a space where the fabric is loose and so it's not constricting at all.

Or if you did like pp suggested, the tummy to tummy exposes their faces.

Here's a great example..
