Will low-anterior placenta hinder a vaginal birth?

Hi, I have had 2 c/s and was planning a vbac this time. I just saw that my placenta hasn't moved up a lot since my last u/s when it was anterior.

I have a unicornuate uterus and basically most of my uterus is to the right of my belly button. The baby is on the left and the right is filled with fluid and placenta. So basically the placenta is no totally in front but off to the side and does not cover the cervix at all. I don't know how close it is to the cervix but do know that the baby's face is right up in the placenta and the babe is head down and low.

Will or can the placenta interfere with the baby being born vaginally in this position? I need info because I go to my ob this week.

TIA!

I have a low-lying anterior placenta. At my 20w u/s it was borderline previa. At my 28w u/s it had stretched far enough away from my cervix that my doc said it wasn't an issue anymore. I was told that the doctors like it to be 2 inches away from the cervix to consider it not a problem anymore...don't know if any of this helps...best wishes!

I also have low lying anterior placenta. I have another US on thursday to see if placenta moved. DR said that 20% of women have low lying placenta- and of that 20% only 2-3% will cause complete previa that would necessitate a c-section. Early US are typically not reliable to predict- the placenta can move up to 38 weeks I do believe ( in less complete previa is detected)
Not sure if this helps- I am still trying to digest and make sense of this topic---good luck

I've an anterior placenta. Baby's nose was pressed right up against it in there last time we looked, lol. I'm not aware of any issues with it at all. Although it is harder to get baby's heartbeat on the doppler, and I don't feel movement much at all in the front. I've heard that an anterior placenta can increase the chances of a baby being positioned posterior, but I'm not sure that it's common. My baby is more recently positioned LOA, so I'm not even concerned about that now. However, if my uterus was positioned oddly in the first place, I might spend more time working towards good fetal positioning.

Thanks,

My baby is in a great position for birth and we don't anticipate him/her moving into a bad position. My placenta isn't totally anterior but more off the the right. It was anterior at my 17 week u/s and now I am at 30 weeks and it is still low but not quite as anterior. I will be getting further u/s to see what happens but I do know that c/s increase the risk for low or previa.

My baby's face was also touching the placenta.
