DH Is Getting Laid Off

Ugh, its that time of year when construction starts to move slower and so DH is being laid off sometime this week. He's an electrician and still an apprentice, he can take his journeymans test this spring. They already have let one other person go. Timing stinks because we are trying to sell our house and buying property so we will have two payments until our house sells. The good news is since it could be quite a while he is able to just find a different job. Already he has 3 different places to choose from so it could be a good change in pace for a while. I know it will work out. We are already being careful about extra stuff. The other bad side is where ever he decides to work it will be 5 days a week, instead of 4-10 hour days, so I will have to put DD in daycare 5 days now. I will say we are better prepared this time than the first time he was laid off, so thats a good thing.

Being better prepared always helps! You just needed to get it out, remember it's better this time, then go about the course of things... I'm so glad you did!

It's a rough profession, yes. Hubby does ironwork/pipefitting and even the fact that he's union didn't always guarantee a job sometimes...

I'm so sorry Starr. It sounds like you have a plan and will be ok. I can't imagine how scary that must be though. Hugs mama. s
