I'm in NJ. Pretty high COL here, too.

Las Vegas here.
Moved here from New England(southern NH/nothernMA), cost of living is fairly comparable(if you stay away from the tourist stuff! )

I am in Salt Lake City, UT. The COL here is nowhere near what it is in Cal. In fact lots of people from Cal sell their TINY house there, move here, buy a MANSION with plenty of $$ to spare!

Southern California and the COL is ridiculous right now!

Indiana, so midwest...anything between the rockies and Pennsylvania, above the Mason Dixon line is midwest to me.

I agree about there also being a difference between cities and small towns.

I'm in Charlotte, NC...so the south. I moved here from Boone, NC. Boone is definitely different than here, Charlotte is more of a city (though it does have 'town' areas) but Boone is much smaller. I miss Boone

I voted North but...

I'm in Western MD.

it's a world of difference from the DC area or even Frederick, MD

Cost of living is much, much cheaper here.
