December 200 items decluttering challenge... - Page 4

You guys are doing so good! I keep thinking that during the holidays I'm not going to be able to get a whole lot done, so I'm trying to step it up so I hit my 200. I got rid of a TON of baby items yesterday. My girlfriend is having a little girl soon, so I'm giving her all of the gender neutral clothes that I have. I also gave her a sling I made that we don't use anymore because it's made for a smaller baby (not for my chub!). I also weeded through dp's closet and mine a bit too...so the new update is:

Ladies! Our thread is getting bumped down! Oh no!

Are you guys still decluttering? I got rid of about 15 things last night. Mostly baby stuff. I have so much freaking baby stuff it is ridiculous. Why did no one tell me I didn't need everything under the moon for my first?

i've been slacking...but i did cash in $27 worth of coins today! I'll only count that as one item, though

so i think i'm at 61/200

Nice!! I've been making money off of my decluttering too!! I sold an old wedding dress for $200 (I never wore it- long story), I sold a car that I bought for $400 for $1000 (I have no idea), I've sold random cd's and dvd's on the 'for sale' webpage at my work. I'm doing pretty good. Making money and decluttering! It removes so much stress! You know every day you look at that pile of junk and say- WTH am I going to do with that? And *poof* gone. I removed all of the things I'll never wear again from my closet, and now when I open my closet, it's all clothes that fit me and I love!!! This has been so refreshing.

as long as we don't end up buying more 'clutter' with our $, we'll be good!

i definitely consider rounding up the spare change decluttering, though--DH has so many piles and baskets/cups/whatevers full of coins it's :

I took 63 stuffed animals (new, with tags attached) to my husband's office today for the Toys for Tots drive.

I plan on clearing out some more stuff for Good Will soon.

Well, the Kidney Foundation will be here tomorrow to pick up stuff, so I needed to get busy.

Sitting by the front door ready to go:

4 items I just received as gifts but don't need
5 random items from the laundry room
7 articles of clothing from my closet
18 articles of ds's clothing
30 books
6 random kitchen items
5 trash bags full of clothes/toys that have been in our garage (probably a couple hundred items, but I'll just count it as 5)

I could pull an all-nighter and gather more stuff, but I just don't feel like it.

total so far this month: 108/200

We have like 15 stuffed animals in the house total and I was starting to feel crowded!!! I'm still trying to decide which ones to get rid of

I am kind of organizing as I go, and it is great! My closet looks absolutely fab now and is a lot easier to work with.

I would count that as one...That could too easily be 200 items!

Everytime I have a stack from a different room I'll count as one - so that'll probably end as 3 total.

allrighty...i cleared out 54 more items today - that brings my total up to 132. i stll haven't actually left the bedroom yet and my husband hasn't gone through his part of the closet yet either. i can't believe that i have this much to get rid of in the bedroom alone. i am on to the kitchen tomorrow and i am suspicious that may push me over my total. wish me luck...

OK, I sent an email to my playgroup to offer up all my scrapbooking supplies (half a room worth of stuff). I'm going all digital baby! I already have a reply. I just have to arrange a time with the momma. I'm also giving all my fabric scraps away to another momma. YEAH!!!

Oh, and we completely decluttered the dining room today. I started there, thinking how much can we possibly get rid of. It's a relatively small, uncluttered room. Well, I started there and did 4 kitchen cabinets and the top shelf of the pantry. We completely filled the back of the van with stuff for Goodwill.

So, I have not kept count of everything, but I am feeling so great already! Dh doesn't have to work much until after New Year's, so we talked about working on a room a day, until we fill up the van with stuff to donate. The Good Will is only about 2 miles away, which makes it really easy to drop off stuff on our way somewhere.

This is SO liberating!
