What weird things are you craving?

For me, it's pickle juice. : Every time I open the fridge and see the jar of dill pickles (there HAS to be a jar there at all times, just in case I need a pickle RIGHT.THEN.) I have to take a sip of the juice. Maybe my body is lacking in electrolytes?

Anyone else?

Well that's no fun! Come on, I can't be the only freak in our DDC.

Mostly just normal stuff, but it is urgent that I have whatever it is NOW. Saturday it was chips and salsa, Sunday I had to make my MIL's chicken dip...and eat most of it. I love prunes right now, is that wierd?

The smell of brewing coffee turns me on in a weird way these days.
I've been eating a lot of cereal, and not good cereal either. Like Trix, Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms. Seriously.
And Krispy Kremes. Mmm.

Not much. Sometimes I wish I was craving something, because it's so fun to indulge in cravings during pregnancy. I just haven't had a lot this time for some reason. Of course... I'm always a sucker for chocolate.:-)

Not a lot right now. I'm LOVING the smell of coffee even though the taste of coffee is horrible to me (pregnant and non-pregnant.) Last week I was having wicked crazy marshmallow cravings. I bought some graham crackers and chocolate so there'd be more to it (at least chocolate has dairy )

Last pregnancy, it was doughnuts (Krispy Kreme perferably) and mexican food (very convienent for me!)

Hot wing sauce, not the wings just the sauce! I put it on everything from eggs to sandwiches!

I think about food a lot What I can't have...what I will have once baby gets here Right now it's a big stack of waffles smothered in butter and syrup. Poor kids, I won't even make waffles for them right now because my willpower is weak and I know I'd eat some : I'm so mature.

Other than that, anything savoury and I'm all over it. Last night I made sausage, bell pepper and pasta soup.

Why are waffles bad? Everything in moderation, right?

I'm watching my sugar levels because of "gestational diabetes". Cloudy day for me. Not the end of the world, just means I'll be hungry for the next few weeks.

The other day I had to have pickles, sharp cheddar cheese and newman o's together, not mixed together but as a snack together. It was really yummy. Oh, rice krispie treats too. I made a batch Sunday night and they are all gone.

I'm being treated for gestational diabetes (don't have it, but refused to drink the glucola, so they're making me test my blood sugar 7 times a day) and was told one waffle (Eggo sized) was safe. The dietitian said that syrup is safe (about 2 TB per waffle) and about a TB of butter per waffle.

I'm not really craving anything either, nothing in particular. I think my appetite is getting a little better though, which is good. I had fried green beans at TGIFriday the other night, and OMG were they good! They came with a wasabi dipping sauce! Pretty much anything salty and kind of spicy makes me happy most of the time... although I've got a weakness for cookies, especially the chocolate or chocolate chip variety!

I didn't take the test either! I had it with my 2 previous pg's though so I am pre-labeled. I self monitor at home though. My dietitian has cut out all sugar, all white/refined flours. She did say I could use Splenda Thanks, I'll pass.

See now this is what picks my peas about the whole GD label. The treatments and testing methods are different depending on where you are. But that's a whole other post!

interesting, i'm having a hell of time getting my BGL UP in the AM.... i practically have to carb load...

after a tsp of honey, coffee with two tsps of sugar and creamer, 2 eggs and a piece of toast... my BGL was still just 86.

maybe i'll start drinking my (ugh) prune juice in the AM rather than the PM from now on.

A tip I heard to help your morning BGL is to eat dairy-like yogurt with fruit-right before you go to sleep. I've seen it work.

I don't have too many cravings anymore. Did a lot the first tri-mester. Now my appetite is low and my requirements are high, so food is more of a chore. But I do like to keep Dairy Queen Buster Bars in the freezer....you know, for emergencies.

The other week I had SUCH a craving for carrot cake so I went online to look up the recipe and almost gagged (like 2 c. oil in the cake batter). No way. That's stuff's bad for you.

I've been waiting and waiting for a particular craving this pregnancy, but haven't gotten one yet.

With #1 it was chili cheese dogs from Dairy Queen.
With #2 it was sauerkraut w/pork chops & potatoes (OMG we practically had it twice a week for 40.5 weeks!)
With *both*, also, it was ice cream. Loads and loads of ice cream.

I gained a LOT of weight with those two!

This time around, no strange cravings, very little ice cream, and not a lot of weight gained (like, normal amount, not 60 lb. fiesta).

About the only thing I can think of would be chocolate, but then, that's nothing new, KWIM?

i've been eating raisins in plain cheerios and soymilk for breakfast. usually i just eat oatmeal or toast with PB.

i've also been eating WAAAAAY too many organic chocolate creme-filled cookies (MUCH better than oreos, IMO!)

i really would like to eat a date square.

no aversions this time. last time it was hamburger, but now i'm vegan so that's totally not an issue!
