Moving!

Is anyone else moving this month? We will be moving to a new house the week of Christmas! The crazy thing is that I have moved at 8 months pg with all 3 kids! This is a cycle that I must break.: We are doing Christmas on the 16th just so I can pack, but this is nuts! Am I the only one?

I'm not moving, but it sounds miserable... I hope everything goes well with your move, and be careful not to hurt yourself!

Yes my dear, you are officially nuts.

Good luck and be careful. I guess you have more experience at this than I. I do agree this habit needs to be kicked.

We're moving Thursday-ish. The good part is that we still have the apartment through the end of December so we get to move nice and slowly. Unfortunately, my dad's side of the family is expecting us to host Christmas Eve this year, but I'm not sure we'll be up to it.

I knew it! I knew it! I knew it! I am nuts!

Oh and to top it off I don't even know where we will be moving! We live in a townhouse that we are renting but have restored a 1941 house and are trying to sell it. So IF it sells we have to buy a different remodel before January IF it does't sell we have to move into a house that is on the market and will most likely sell March- June RIGHT AFTER THE BABY!!!

Sorry about the short rant. This is sooooo stressful. Did I mention that my DH lost his job 6 weeks ago and we just ran out of money?!?! Thanks for letting me vent!

Excuse me? The answer is no, you will NOT be hosting anyone's Christmas this year. Repeat after me: NO.

I'm sorry to rip on them, but what kind of selfishness is it to expect the moving couple with the wife 7 months pregnant to do all that holiday work? Please stand firm, sweetie. You don't have to be everything to everybody. What you do have to do is take it a lot easier and give your energy to the one who needs you most of all-the baby.

Jessica, that really sucks. And the market isn't very accomadating for house selling either.
I hope you guys can come up with some solutions. Are you moving for a new job? Is there anyway you could just stay put a few more months?
Good luck!

Or at least start delegating!! That's what I'm doing. Luckily dh is a chef so I'm pretty well covered on the food front, but still I have already enlisted my sils and brothers to help out in the kitchen and with cleanup. I have a firm plan...to enjoy Christmas, not stress about it!

Aw. It's not that bad, really. It's like a pot-luck thing with Styrofoam plates and everyone does their own cleanup. I sort of want to host it. I shouldn't have said they were expecting us to, more like hoping. It's either my parents, who are getting new carpet and will have the house torn up, or us.

We just moved. Literally this week. Well dh moved out the weekend of t'giving, and dd and I just came on Monday. I am sitting on the couch surrounded by boxes stacked so high I can't see my windows.

Thankfully his company hired movers for us, so they packed and moved and carried, I'm just unpacking, which is a heck of a lot of work to do on a good day, forget with an almost-2 yr old and being 7 months preggo.

Dh is working extra long hours the first few weeks. So he leaves in the morning and we see him just before bedtime, which makes for a cranky and tired me. We don't have any friends/family here either, and I just hired a new midwife, now I need to find a pedi, chiro, and some friends! Oh and a doula and probably a new doula (or one in training) to work with dd during the birth.

I'm really hoping I can trade the "be at a birth and a little cash" for a good doula who will watch dd as her #1 job... wish me luck!

And money? hahaha. We haven't even put our old house on the market yet.
