Can Carrots Cause Constipation?

I have been giving my LO carrots for 4 days now and she hasn't pooped in 2 days except 1 hard round one today. She started to cry afterwards so I know she is constipated, but I never heard of carrots constipating.

It's been my experience that pretty much anything can cause constipation in different people, especially babies.

How old is your LO? Is this your first attempt at solids? I would probably back off of solids for a little while and start again with something different. Bananas were bad for my DS in the beginning, and I think that's pretty common.

Actually we have gone through sweet potatoes, and some bananas(which she didn't like) before carrots. Today I gave her pears to hopefully get things moving. The nurse said to try apple juice diluted to help.

We did the baby food prunes and that helped when DS was having trouble. He actually really enjoyed them, too.

I believe carrots caused constipation in my dd. It was awful and we won't be trying carrots again!

White grape juice worked wonders. Prune juice didn't seem to help at all.
