33 weeks--baby dropped equals early labor?

I'm in the middle of 33 weeks. The baby has dropped a bit and sometimes at night I have small contractions that are short and tend to go away. But does anyone know if the baby dropping correlates to an earlier labor? I don't remember reading anything about this with my first. And she didn't drop down until about 35-6 weeks (was born one day before due date). I really want this baby to stay in until after Christmas! After that, come right on out.

Ive never read/heard anything about a correlation between the two unless there is some dilation occurring with it.

DS dropped between 34-35 weeks and I had him at 40w4d. This time, Ive been told that I look like the baby has dropped over the last week or so and I feel it, too. I took a belly pic today for comparison and it does look to be true. Ill be 32 weeks tomorrow.

Not really, if that were a good predictor then we'd know, and we never really know... not from the mucus plug, not from braxton hicks... it is hard not knowing isn't it? I want to know as I have elephantitis of the feet and my bp is rising and I am only 33 wks too! But, I have to live by my creed...which is what I tell my clients...expect 42 weeks and if you go sooner then it is a nice surprise! Ugg! They must hate me.

I am really uncomfortable and can't wait to be not pregnant, but on the other hand, I really don't want to have the baby before Christmas. Christmas is going to be my last week to relax before the baby is born!! We are going to my parents' house for a whole week and so they will mostly watch our daughter and I can sleep in and be lazy for the week to rest up.

I went into labor two days before my due date with my first and am kind of expecting that I will have about the same timing with this one. Maybe completely wrong, but it's what I'm clinging to right now!!
