$3,000. My insurance paid all but $300.

almost $5000 - if we had insurance, I think it would have covered most of it.

$4,200 we paid about $1000 of it. Worth every penny. If you are anywhere near danbury, connecticut i would highly recommended the connecticut childbirth & women's center

How much was it originally (not the copay, but total cost of what insurance paid)?

The reason I am researching this is because I want to go to a birth center next time I am pg but I don't think we will have maternity coverage. We will have insurance, but in FL maternity coverage is not automatically covered, you have to add it. And then when you do, its not very good. High maternity deductible and they still only pay half after that. So I think if we did add maternity coverage we would pay the same amount after deductible and 50% plus monthly payments for the insurance as if we didn't have insurance and just paid the birth center the whole thing. And that's assuming we got pg right away. If we didn't get pg right away then it would end up being MORE expensive to have the insurance.

Thankfully, even w/o insurance if something did go wrong and I had to have a c-section or something, then insurance would cover that even without maternity benefits.

$2800 and we're not expecting insurance to pay for it. However, with the same midwives, it's $2500 for a homebirth so I figure the extra $300 is a great deal for dh's piece of mind (if I knew he wouldn't freak (which he will) during a homebirth, I'd go for that.)

Just under $3000, including all pre-natal visits, post-natal home visit and several post-natal appointments at the birth center. Insurance covered all of it.

ditto

We're paying a 20% copay which I believe is $800, so the total cost is probably about 4K. That includes all prenatals, post partum home visit, etc.

I believe it was around $3000 dollars both times. Insurance covered 100% though, so I never saw the bill.

$4700! And with insurance, out-of-network, we'll have to pay $2680. That's more expensive than both of my previous births, which also took place in a birthcenter, combined!
