Supporting info for when to cut the umbilical cord

Hi ladies,
I was wondering if anyone could provide me with studies or supporting information (pros/ cons) for delaying the severing of the umbilical cord until the blood stops pumping into the baby after birth. I would like to provide this to my midwife/ OB. I am going to a new practice and am not sure about their practicees or views on the issues so I just want to go to my first appt prepared. With my other kids, their cord was cut w/in seconds after they were born.
