Anyone wanna just chat?

Hi all,

I don't often start threads because I don't have any major subjects to talk about-just little things here and there. So I started this thread to see if there are others with little things they'd like to share.

Today I saw my midwife. I haven't seen her in person since 22 wks. We talk on the phone, but now I'm going to an OB so it's not so important. Anyway, she got a kick out of my belly today. She showed me that it's exactly at term. The babies are stretched from top to bottom and she said they're even starting to go a little further on the sides.
All I could think was, 'Man, this pregnancy would've been a breeze with only one in there"

But I'm not complaining. I'm so grateful for all the symptoms I don;t have.

In other news, our remodeling has reached a tipping point. We actually have more done on the list than not. I think what's left will naturally take a backseat though. I am feeling the urge to get my hospital bag packed and birth plans-one before 36 weeks and one for after-all ready to go. I was on a twin forum MOnday and a mom announced the birth of her twins at 28 wks, 5 days. It hit me like a brick! Yikes. :

Oh, and anyone having a hard time fitting Christmas into all this pregnancy stuff?

Hello! Sure, we can chat!

Remodelling stinks!! We have done a lot at our house, and there always seems like there is more to do. We do most of our own work too so we save money, but it seems to take forever!

Today I started knitting a little toy for my son, he loves Sesame St. and Oscar the Grouch has a little pet worm named Slimey, well my son LOVES the worm and I decided I would knit him one!

I don't do a whole lot for Christmas, I do want to get some cards out so I'll probably start picking at that this week sometime. I shop online for my parents because they live out of town and I have to ship things anyway, and usually DH and I will go do his family's stuff later, like at the last minute! Most likely I will shop for DH online too, unless I happen to think of something. I love to buy gifts for people but he's kinda hard to shop for.

Timneh_mom -- that little worm sounds SO cute. I used to love Slimey, too.

Jude Rose -- I hope your babes get to cook until you're ready for them. Its pretty usual for twins to appear between 34 and 36 weeks, isn't it? So you might end up being a Jan. mamma with me.

Ug . . Christmas. Well, dh is an Anglican (episcopalian) priest, so the next 4 weeks we're booked solid with brunches and carol fests and hospital and care home visits and etc, etc. I'm hoping to make up some little photo albums of pictures of ds for our parents, and I ordered dh's gifts online. I'm really excited about ds' main present, because they had this huge Christmas sale at Canadian Tire, and I got him one of those BIG metal tonka front end loaders for $16.00. My mom found and re-painted a dump truck for him and we have a huge sandbox, so its going to be a fun summer for him. I'm also making him some little frog beanbags full of rice that he can throw around, and also we can warm them up in the microwave for those mornings I don't get a chance to warm up the car much before we get out there. Other than that I have Christmas cards to do, and I'm pretending I'm going to bake.

I saw my dr yesterday, and he said everything looks good. Whenever he listens to the heartbeat he says "Sounds like a boy to me!". He's a really great doctor, and I'm so glad I found him after my worries about giving birth here rather than driving to a bigger city. It was a bit nerve wracking, though, because he's the doc in town that does all the c-sections. And he had to go right after my appointment to do an emergency section coming in from a smaller nearby town, and his secretary was on the phone for 25 min. while I was waiting, trying to find a doctor who was available and willing to assist him. I'm not planning on needing a c-section, but you never know.

Other than that, I'm starting to get stuff ready for the new babe. I pulled out all my son's old clothes and diapers to wash and get organized, and we're driving next week to go and pick up a matress and some other kid furniture for my son, so we can set up a room for him even if he doesn't use it yet. Hopefully he'll be sleeping at least part time on his own matress at the foot of our bed before baby comes along.

I was going to say that about Slimey too. He's the coolest!

You know, I still am very happy about where my pregnancy landed timewise because the heat of summer would suck when you're so big and I'm busiest in my work except for Jan-Mar. But this Christmas thing is a real time sucker.
And buying online isn't as easy as I thought it would be.

I mean, Jilly, your December is like you had a month of prep totally taken away. I bet a lot of us are experiencing that.

And I want to totally blow off Christmas cards, but people KNOW I'm taking it easy, so how do I explain I'm too frickin busy for cards?
