I was in your shoes yesterday. I was at least 8 days late (wacky nursing cycles, that's why I say "at least") and had been sometimes feeling all of the following: ravenous, light-headed, lightly nauseated, and even a bit of what I recall round ligament pain feeling like. Every day AF didn't come. I was sure I was pregnant, but since I was a bonehead and hadn't been charting, I needed a test to confirm it.
I went and bought two yesterday. I wondered why I was bothering, since I was certain that I was pregnant. I tested in the late morning on pee from yesterday morning. I figured a few hours probably wouldn't be enough time to make all the HCG go away. Negative (but I did get my control line). Then I was confused. I didn't believe that the fact that it was slightly old pee could really change it that much, but I was sure that I was pregnant!
AF came this morning. I'm still not convinced, though. Maybe AF is actually a really early miscarriage? Could I really have invented all of those symptoms in myself? Anyway, I'll just think of it as AF and move on, as we weren't quite ready to start trying (soon, though) and I'm really not ready to risk the chance of DD weaning due to pregnancy.
I hope your next test shows whichever result is more pleasing to you!
