A catered event! My aunt just told me about how she's been talking to caterers and that she's trying to rent out the church we attend for it too. I love my aunt .

Well I am not a shower person AT ALL... I usually avoid them like the plague, and I had hoped to avoid having anything too big or crazy, but I failed. I am having two showers - one is going to be catered and one is going to be more homespun but they will both be sure to include games and stuff, and present opening, which just always makes me a bit uncomfortable. I guess I've just decided that its different than a wedding shower (which I got away with not having) because its not for me its for the baby -- and its all coming from the right place in my mom's heart, and in his mom's heart. They mean well, and they're excited...and that is very very sweet, so that's making me excited!

That's so nice of your Aunt. Enjoy!

My baby shower is this weekend. Like phillychiquita, I have some mixed feelings. It will be nice to see everyone (especially my 91 year-old grandma), but the whole present opening, everyone staring at me thing. Plus, I am afraid of getting a lot of "advice". Like about cloth diapering ("It will never last") or co-sleeping since we registered for things that would indicate we're doing both those things.

On the other hand, everyone at the shower will be doing a page in a memory book for the baby so that will be nice.

I felt the same way about my wedding shower and everything turned out fine. I'm sure this will too.

That sounds wonderful!! I would feel like a princess too have something catered for me I hope you have a wonderful time!
