Doctor's and their soap boxes

I've been seeing an OB (who I love) and planning the birth at a center assisted by a doula. Now that my appts are more frequent I have to rotate doctors, so the doc I saw today was a 1st timer with me. He's nice and all and the first thing he said was how healthy I looked. But then he started lecturing me about this, and that, am I doing this, weight gain that. :

The reason why I love my doctor is because she never says anything! I'm healthy, baby's healthy, and she leaves it at that.

I don't know if he felt the need to give his big 'this is best for your baby' speech since this is the first time he saw me. I just wanted to say, excuse me I've been doing this for 30 some weeks now, I think I know what my baby and my body need.

Sorry just had to vent.

It is good that since you are in with a larger practice to meet all the OB's. At least it won't be a total stranger staring at you when you birth Your comment is hilarious...too bad you didn't say what you were thinking

Grgh! Nothing like a know-it-all Dr. to tick you off. :
