Anyone have Kaiser for insurance?

First off - THANKFULLY I am not giving birth there. We are paying out of pocket for out wonderful midwife/birthing center...but, on to my question.

If you have Kaiser how did you/how will you pick a pediatrician for your child? : Kaiser is such an odd/annoying system, and everytime I've needed healthcare for myself they just give me any old doctor they happen to have available. Every time I've tried to stick with one I like they've moved on and aren't there anymore.

I don't know if you can interview ped's as you would with other health insurance plans, and would have no idea how to do it with Kaiser.

As it stands right now I figure kiddo's first trip will be with whoever they give me, and we'll just keep trying til we find someone we like - but really, I'm not so crazy about that idea. Especially since very doctor and "mEdwife" I've dealt with at Kaiser is SO mainstream/by the book. :

Argh! Any suggestions or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

We have Kaiser, but have 2 kids already, so I already have a doc chosen. The thing is, in the clinic I go to (a small one in the 'burbs), there is only 1 ped. I could go further to meet more, but I have heard he is pretty good from an AP friend who works at Kaiser. I have had Kaiser for over a year and my kids haven't had a physical yet. [Bad mommy!] They have seen him twice for other stuff (pop corn kernal in the ear and strep throat tests). I would think you can interview, though. At least get some recommendations. And for regular check ups, they should schedule you with the doc you want. If it is an emergency, you may end up with someone else, but otherwise you should be fine.
