so freaking mad at my chiro

well, i almost killed her receptionist a few months ago becuase she is such a utter b1tch to my son. she's just one of those people who think kids shuld be seen not heard and should instantly obey their parents no matter what. i asked around for some recommendations and everyone raved about this woman about 45 minutes east of us. (not we drive 45 minutes west of us!) well, dh wasn't willing to try anyone else that far away and so we tried a few around here who sucked.

dh obviously had something funky going on with his back and so i wanted him to keep seeing someone (since his solution was to just not see anyone), so we kept going. well everything has seemed cool there for the last few months. we go on this wednesday and what does the receptionist from hell tell me? she hasn't made any appts for us for next year. she doesn't have anything for us until march. (we have had a standing once a month wednesday night appt for 4 years now).

okay, so i see that she wants to get rid of us, but for her to do this right at the end of my pregnancy was just low down and plain old mean. now with 8 weeks left before the baby comes, i have no appts with my chiro.

so, i called this other chiro's office and she managed to squeeze in new patient appts for us right after new years and she seemed confident they could see us after dh's work on wednesdays. she was really nice and seemed happy to welcome my son into the office.

oh and now i know that my dh has some sort of inflammatory condition in his spine/hips (we are still waiting for the blood tests to come back to confirm exactly what it is), and so i am not so scared about him floating around with no care.

it's too bad my chiro would flush a 5 year relationship down the toilet by allowing her receptionist be a vindictive . most likely i won't ever even call them again, i'll have the new office just call for my records.

i'm so pissed that someone would treat us like this when the baby is so close. what is wrong with this woman? but i'm grateful that the other office is being so nice and finding space for us.

s I'm so sorry. That really sucks that they are treating you like that. That is so not cool. I hope you can get into somewhere soon and you like them. If your chiro wasn't willing to stand up for you when this lady was being a _ _ _ _ _ then maybe your better off without them too.
I know I would just die if I lost my chiro right now. He's the best and has made my pregnancy so much more bearable than it could have been.
Good Luck to you!

That's a bit surreal. How many practices allow the receptionist to have that much power? It makes me wonder if your chiro even knows what's going on?I think you should consider speaking to him/her on the phone to give him a chance to know. I mean, the chiro is paying her paycheck! If I were her boss, I'd want to know.

Either way, it sucks and I can;t believe she would be so unprofessional. I hope this other place works out better.

yeah, i already spoke to the chiro a few months ago.... her lame response? "well we don't have these issues with other kids here." (the issues? he runs up and down the long hallway there and likes to use lots of little paper cups to get drinks of water) i said "what other 3 year olds have to sit in the car for an hour, then sit at dinner and then sit again for another hour home?" she was like "good point, but if i have to pick between a patient and my receptionist, i have to go with my staff."

and she was standing right there when the receptionist said "i didn't make any appts for you in 2007." she turned around to get a hot pack and then said "have a happy holiday!" and disappeared. she knows damn well what is happening.

Wow! What ever happened to the customer is always right!? People are unbelievable these days. : My dad owns a business and he once told me that if you give a person great service they will tell 1 person but if you give a person poor service they will tell 10. Maybe this will come back round to you chiro. I'm guessing you won't be referring anyone to her business. I'm glad the other place was able to squeeze you in. Hopefully they will work out and be even better than the other place.

well, she's a really good chiro, so she is always full. i don't think she's gonna care about losing 2 patients. (well, i'm guessing my mom won't go back either, just cause my mom is the kind of person who holds a grudge.)

but i am going to let my online AP group now about her office.

there is at least one chiro on there and i'm sure she'll tell her dh, who is also a chiro and eventually someone will care that i complained about her.

there aren't any laws about being anti-child, in fact i think it's really common. but to drop someone who you've been seeing for 5 years 8 weeks before her baby is due seems really crappy to me.

I am really sorry this happened too you, but what really P!SSES me off is the way they talk about your 3 yr old. I mean come on.. Drinks, and running..That is so petty, and too get ticked off about it? I could see if he set the place on fire, but this takes the cake.I should set loose my pre-schooler and toddler on them. Ya know after a long standing relationship with them, you would think your son being there would be second nature too them, or better yet... almost like family.

For Pete's sake:

That is so terrible! I am a chiro, although on a sabbatical until next year , and I don't think any doctor would want to hear that a patient was treated like that! I would DEFINATELY call and ask to speak with the chiro, explain what happened and that you would like your records. That should simply not stand with her, and if it does...well....@#$#%$#$^-that's just not cool. Good luck with your new one!
