I have a situation & need advice.

- I'm a VBACing mom with #2 this March
- We're moving THIS MONTH about 2 hrs away from my treasured CNM
- The local hospital there "allows" VBACs but won't "let" me be attended by a midwife which tells me a lot about their actual opinion of VBACs
- We're interviewing a doula Sunday who recommended an alternative birthing unit staffed by a private midwife group (West Suburban, if anyone in the Chicago area has heard of them), and they sound like EXACTLY the approach I'm hoping for
- I had LONG LONG LONG early labor with DD, after SROM & GBS at that time, so I have to find a care provider/team that isn't going to put me on a crappy 18 hr hospital timeclock to c/s post-rupture in case that happens again

The bad part ... West Suburban is about 45 miles from where we're moving, and in bad traffic that might take ~2 hrs. Is that too far to go? Am I taking an uncalled-for risk, or would that distance be worth it for better care?
