Very interesting thread, I have a Brother, not that old but I got it used. I used to use a pedal machine that the place I worked for had, it was ancient. But we gave it to one of the teachers from Kenya who took it home with her to help a woman`s cottage industry. I don`t feel bad about the loss as I know it is getting much more use in Kenya that I ever could here.

I do machine quilt on my Brother and will get out a ruler and see how straight it is .

Oh you will have a good time. That machine will give you alot of pleasure and it's just so basic that it's easy to use and fix yourself. Enjoy your new treasure and let us know how you like it.

I am using this quilt pattern with scraps at the moment. It is a very fun pattern. Check out some of the quilts under "your twisted sisters"
