Is Ivory soap the best name brand soap?

Ivory is so dirt cheap and dh loves it (i used to use it to wash my face in high school because it never made me break out and it was cheap)

Is it the safest soap as in most pure in form compared to other name brands?

All things considered, for a commercial brand, it's the least of the evils. It does have tallow of many forms, which I don't care for. If I ever needed to buy it again, I would, but it would be more out of last resort. I'm working up the drive and time to make my own soap again, but in the meantime, my new bar soap love is Zum (frank and myhrr flavored goat's milk soap).

I've found Ivory to be the MOST drying out of all the soaps. I've also seen people who have been Ivory soap users for most of their life and they always have wrinkles because it's so drying. I'm not making this up!

Dove also has tallow in it but is superfatted. Dove sensitive is free of perfumes and dyes if that concerns you. Ivory's campaign of 'so pure, it floats' is a fallacy since it's basically because so much air is whipped into it that the air pockets make it float (it was a manufacturing mistake that turned into a serendipitous selling point) - it delighted kids that they could find their soap floating in the tub if they were taking a bath.
