hey Melaya! It's great to see you back here- thanks for your help w/ the vax stuff.

How have you been? You're in nursing school, right?

Do you have any contact w/ Marvel's parents? I think about you guys a lot.

I agree, it's nice to see you here!
I actually think about you frequently. I'm donating milk to an adopted baby girl and it makes me think of little Marvel and others I know.
How are things?

krista, how much milk are you able to pump w/ 3 little kids??? hats off to you (& all who donate)! I aspired to donate & have a really easy time pumping lots of milk, but just don't have the time w/ my 1 crazy girl.

I'm supplying 1/2-2/3 of her needs right now. I ship about 200 oz. every 2 weeks. Sadly USPS "lost" one of the shipments though, which was really sad; the family was scrambling to find extra donor milk; every time they have to fill in her diet with formula she immediately gets terrible reflux. It's so nice to know that as soon as she gets breastmilk again she's got a happy tummy!

I pump while the boys are eating breakfast, lunch, and whenever I can find a moment to add a few extra ounces. I use a hand pump attached to a 9 oz. bottle and I just stick it in the fridge until I fill it, then freeze in a Lansinoh bag. I usually pumpon average 15-18oz per day. Then I just stick the pump and bottles in the dishwasher at night and I'm ready to go again.

Believe me, I don't find any secluded spot to relax and pump....it's usually me sitting on the kitchen stool smiling at the baby, sometimes with my 4 year old sitting 6 inches from my hands telling me "it's at the 9 mama!" or "it's almost at the 4!" : Took some getting used to, but he's less interested in what I'm doing as time goes on. I leave Nate and A.J. at home with Dada when I go to the post office to ship the milk, and Ryan always wants to come along. It interesting the variety of conversations sparked by a box labeled "Frozen Human Milk" .
