Hi,
I would like to become a doula someday. So a friend of mine, but more of an aquaintance really, allowed me the honour of attending her birth, just to get a feel for it. It was this morning, and it went beautifully (natural birth at a birthing center).
Anyway, I dont know how to begin to thank her for letting me be there, but I thought at the very least I should get her something. Ive had two babies myself but somehow Im at a loss of ideas of what she might need or enjoy for the first few days post-partum. I cant really make food, I just dont have much time (a sick baby, a term paper to write, and an exam to study for) but I could buy her something.
Thanks in advance for any ideas...
Rowan

And don't stay too long, mom might feel like she has to "host" or look more chipper than she may feel.
