what's it mean to be frosted?

i see this in so many signature lines and curiosity killed the cat and now it's killing me! will someone please tell me so i can stop obsessing about this?

Nope. I think it's pretty dumb. It just takes up time, which I don't have enough of. And then if I don't do it, I get that "chain letter guilt." Plus, it takes up space in the very limited sig lines.
