allergy ring

does any one have any info on the allergy ring around the baby's anus? is it necessarily allergies? the baby seems fine other wise, but his poop seems to burn his bottom. i get to it as fast as i can. if it is allergies, what food would cause that?

It could be allergies or it could be acidic foods. How old is the baby? If he is eating foods, it could be that something he is eating is too acidic for him. If he is still exclusively nursing, it could be a food allergy. No way to say what. THe top 8 most common are milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, fish, and shellfish.

thanks for the list of foods. i am experimenting with cutting out dairy and based on yesterday's meltdown i might have to cut out eggs too. we will see. i'm keeping a food journal to be objective cuz i really like my dairy and eggs.
