When to introduce nuts?

I know this is probably on here somewhere, but I couldn't find it in a seacrh. When my oldest dd was younger, we were advised to wit until she was 2 to give her nuts and peanuts. But now I seem to recall having heard that they now recommend waiting till 3. My daughter will be 2 in January and we're thinking about letter her have treats with nuts over the holidays. She has been given peanuts (small amount) at least twice by her sister (4 yrs), with no problem. There is a history of nuts allergies- I was believed to be allergic to all tree nuts and peanuts as a teenager, but when I was retested as an adult, the only one that was an allergy was almond, and the allergist said that he doubted the other allergies were true (the person doing the first test didn't do it thorougly or properly). And lately, dh has been feeling funny after eating peanuts (though he used to eat pb by the spoonfuls).
My older daughter had nuts at 2 and had no problems.

What are the most recent guidlines?

The most recent guidelines are actually 4 years in a family with a history of food allergies. But since your daughter has already had peanuts, some people think it's better to start eating them than to continue avoiding after exposure. Do you have a good allergist you can call for advice?

Wow! 4 years! I had no idea. I will call the doctor who did my testing as an adult, he was really good, I found.
Thanks!
