1st trimester awkwardness

does anyone else feel this way?? I have a very petite frame, so my belly is already showing up and its very obvious to ME of course, but I feel like everyone else is probably just wondering if I've had too many beers this week. My clothes are tight fitting and when I wear ds on my back especially, the belly bulges way out. I can't fit any maternity clothes properly yet, and I feel torn between trying to hide the belly till it really looks "pregnant" and showing off what belly is there, but like I'm phony or something??? Lol, am I making ANY sense? Is this just a self-image issue? (did I just answer my own question? )

Yeah, I'm thin, and I feel like my belly is already sticking out. I already had kind of a bloated-looking belly from my first pregnancy with my over nine pound DS. My muscles never tightened up properly. So anyway, I've been wearing loose sweaters and hoodies and hoping no one notices.

So glad I'm not the only one! I'm pretty thin, and over the last week I've definitely gotten a little belly! At first I was just bloated, but this is definitely my womb now. With DS, I had *no* belly until 12 or 13 weeks, so this is shocking to me. I wear tight clothes too, and I don't really know what to do because they just make me look like I've put on a few pounds. : My tighter jeans are now *too* tight around my waist. I think it's mostly a self-image issue. I'd love to get out my maternity tops, but I know I'd be swimming in them and it would probably just look silly. I mean, really, who wears maternity clothes in their second month?

I can't wait until I look pregnant to everyone else!

I have this!

I don't really have an actual bump, but my belly is just starting to change shape and hang out a bit. I am very small so my t-shirts are normally extra smalls and a lot of them are too short for me now. I got dressed yesterday and I had on some of my normal "weekend clothes", jeans and t-shirt and zip up sweater...and I looked and felt like a little kid who had a growth spirt ..I seemed to be hanging out all over the place on my top.. really it is rather annoying because I don't want to buy anything yet and I don't know what to get anyway....I guess I keep talking about Bella Bands so maybe I better just buy a few of those asap!

I broke down and got a pair of "anytime" maternity pants from the Gap. They're SO FREAKIN' COMFY! The only problem is that I have to wear a sweater on top, else it'll be painfully obvious I'm wearing mat pants. I figure that it's totally worth the $80CDN my dp paid (we also had a 30% off coupon on top of that, so that helped). I'll be able to wear them forever.

For work pants, I have to leave the top button undone so it doesn't cut in while I'm sitting, which I do for most of the workday. That's mostly for nausea, though, and on my less nauseated days, I can do it all the way up. This is primarily because my work pants are fortunately rather stretchy.

Can't wear any of my jeans, though. At least, not done up, which is kinda the point of wearing anything aside from my flannel pjs.

Pre-pregnancy, I had zero belly. Flatest belly you ever saw (on someone with hips as wide as mine *snerk*). Now.... Now I look like a normal female who's retaining water like nobody's business. I even have a little belly pudge from my uterus pushing everything up. It's kinda cute!

For me, I don't want to show/look like I'm showing until mid-January, if I can help it. I just hope my current stock of clothing will allow me to wait that long.

I am travelling in Thailand and man, they are hardcore here. I am a size 14 and round generally, and I am mostly belly usually, but right now, at 5.5 weeks, my belly is swollen (I think they say it's distention) and tender and I can't suck it in anymore.

Yesterday I was shopping and a lady said in thai 'she's big.' I get that in asia all the time, but I said 'I'm pregnant actually' (didn't say only 5 weeks ) and she said 'no you not, just fat.'

It was awful.

H*ly cr*p! Is that considered appropriate there? I can't imagine that! I might just slap someone, especially with all these pregnancy hormones! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that.

I think it's a culture thing. I had an older Asian lady ask me why I had pimples all over my face once.
