My birth at Special Beginnings was the most positive experience of my life. I had some complications- water breaking 3 days before ctx with light meconium, but it was treated with...
My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...
This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...
This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...
Elizabeth, why the sad face?
i know its not a very accepted thing. but i am happy. and i am fat. and i am comfortable with being fat and happy at the same time.
its taken me a LONG time to get here, but it feels good to have acceptance of my body, flabby saggy belly, cellulite thighs and butt, and flag like waving arms.
my body makes babies. its a part of the Goddess, its fabulous, even if its not socially appealing.
Reporting in as another fluffy mama! 5'6", started at 250#, size 22/24. Not necessary thrilled with my size, but not too upset either. I'm just hoping it doesn't hinder me from getting a widwife I will like... I'm not 100% sure on trying to go for UC.

Teia, your size shouldnt matter at all when it comes to finding a great midwife, actually it could help you. you will know you found the right one, when she doesnt make an issue of your weight at all.
there is NO way i could go with a midwife that made an issue of my size. i love that my midwife has faith in my body, no matter its size.

Thanks Tiffany! That's how I feel too. I'm waiting until I'm 12 weeks before trying to secure one but in the meantime I've been trying to research the ones in my area as much as possible to find one that will suit my needs. I think most of my worry comes from a couple of email lists I'm on... the horror stories of what so many other plus size mamas have been put through is enough to dishearten most. That and trying to find ones that will work with my personal beliefs as well. So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that my pickiness won't scare them all off!
The sad face is because I'm not comfortable with my body. I never have been, and now I'm at my highest weight ever.
I also seem to be puffing out in the tummy a lot sooner this time, so I just look really fat. Blah. Oh well, I have body image issues. I'll get over it when I have a nice big round belly and not a squishy fat looking one
