Whatever you do, don't use what I did! I got a clove oil combination from the HFS. The kids always made these awful faces - I finally tried it. I almost hurled!!!! Poor kiddos. I think it was called gumomile. Blech - phooey - NASTY!

oh man I can just imagine it!
I remember when Ryan started solids and I was using Organic Baby jarred food back then. He loved everything...except one flavour (I think it was called "summer vegetables"), and I couldn't understand why, since he liked all the ingredients separately. But then I tried a bite. HURL city!! I don't know why the combo was so bad, but it made me start investigating making some of my own baby food after that!! And always trying tastes of what I was feeding first!

I try everything that either of the girls will have to put in their mouths (hence discovering that E's new medicine is AWFUL!)

DD#1 didn't have teething issues, so I never tried anything. DD#2 hasn't started teething, yet. We'll see!

I mainly give her my finger to gnaw on. When she starts to do this little humming cry when her gums are sore, I sometimes give her Chamomilla if I can't otherwise soothe her.

Do you think if I drank some Chamomile tea, and nursed her it would calm her down?

We are not using Hyland's, even though I've heard it works great. Our doc said it had a sedative effect AND DH (the biologist) is completely against anything with belladonna in it. Im out numbered.

I use my fingers. Never used anything other than that for ds1 either (until he got old enough to use teethers.) Elliot jusst doesn't get grump about his teeth (he has 2 in now), but he doesn't chew on his hands a lot (and mine.)
