Spotting Worries

I've been spotting for two weeks now... it's driving me nuts. Everytime I think it's gone, it comes back. I'm a touch crampy, nothing out of the ordinary though... and nothing near like when I miscarried. The constant spotting and wondering is stressing me out so much though

Hang in there. Some women spot throughout their pregnancy. But I imagine it happens more at this time when the egg is implanting into the uterus and 'eating' away some of the lining to make the placenta.

I'm hoping it goes away soon for you. Must be a pita

How's the spotting, ApplePieBaby?

I'm spotting now too--just a tiny bit of light brown when I wipe the last 12 hours or so. It's making me very nervous. I'm still feeling very pregnant--threw up this morning, etc. and not cramping at all. How worried should I be?

I spotted what I thought was a lot with my first pregnancy and he'll be 11 in July And then my second...I BLED. Flat out, bright red pools of it...including a golf ball sized clot!! He'll be 7 next month! My third pregnancy, a surrogate one, I had no bleeding whatsoever. Everyone is different

I wouldn't worry too much. Brown blood is old blood. It could even be from implantation!!!

It's red most of the time, then it will fade to brown & be gone for a bit, then come back red again. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully I'll know if I need to be worried or just relax then.

Thanks for the input, Holly. It helps to know that others have experienced this! I went to the midwife for the first time yesterday (who I loved!) and she was fairly reassuring. Now I'm just trying to relax and not obsess about it, and concentrate on keeping food down. I guess it's a good sign to still be feeling so queasy...

Let us know how your appointment goes, ApplePieBaby--I'll be thinking good thoughts.

I had my ultrasound- I drank a lot before I left the house, then got a 44 ounce iced tea on the way- OMG I thought I was going to DIE I had to pee so bad. I was so sure they wouldn't see anything with the abdominal probe & they'd have to use the vaginal and I'd get to pee when they sent me to strip LOL
It was really weird- when she was pressing on my belly, it was numb in some spots because of the c-section. The cyst was still there, and there was also a small fibroid- she said that could be the cause of my bleeding. But, the baby looked good, measured exactly on target (7w 1d), and it's heart was beating strongly(156)! Yay!
I asked her if she could tell where the baby implanted, and she said it was on the back of my uterus, and it's far from my c-section scar. You could totally see the shadow of the scar too on the ultrasound- so bizarre.
As soon as she let me off the table, I ran for the bathroom LOL Then I headed out to my car & drove off base, made it as far as Bojangles & had to stop there to pee again :X LMAO

Glad your appt went so well. I've been thinking of you as I too have had un explained spotting for a week or so now off and on. My us on monday (7w0d)showed a hb too. We had a bad angle (bladder not full ) so we could not measure this time.
So happy to hear your good news!

Glad to hear everything looked ok. It's a relief seeing the heartbeat, isn't it?

I wanted to mention that I spotted for weeks with my last baby. I also spotted a little bit a couple of days ago, but it stopped. It still worried me, even though I spotted through all my pregnancies but the first one.

I'm so glad the ultrasound went well! You must be so relieved.

I'm still spotting a little, still brown--I go back and forth between thinking it's no big deal and being totally freaked out. I've decided I officially hate the first trimester. January can't come soon enough!

I am most definately having another csection too. Mainly because I had one, but the doctor had to cut me back open a few years ago when I had a cervical pregnancy and almost bled to death. I am not really sweating it, I feel like it is the safest option for me and my baby.

I started spotting again too...

Me too. I stopped for more than 24 hours--then last night some pink blood when I went to the bathroom, and then again a little later. I freaked out completely. Now I'm back to the tiniest amount of brown spotting. I'm thinking I should do the serial blood test, just to get a little more information? Part of me thinks this is just normal for me. I spotted for 8 days when I implanted. It's hard to keep that perspective, though.

Good luck to the other spotters!

Hi girls,
Just joined the thread. Got my positive test this morning
I've been playing the spotting game for a couple weeks now. It started brown and light the week before I was due, then went away. I took a test that came back negative?? Then the spotting came back lightly again for just a few days. After three days of nothing I tested this morning and voila! baby!
Anyway, I was a bit nervous about the timing and duration that I've spotted so far as most things I read online mention that it should only last a day. After reading all your posts I feel much better now.

Hey, at least the first trimester is around the holidays. When does time go quicker than that!

Here's to a Christmas of virgin eggnog and sparkling cider!

Well, I broke down and had an ultrasound today (I was planning on avoiding this, but decided it's worth it to be able to relax). There was the heartbeat, fluttering away! That made me feel much better. Then the tech said it looked like I might have two uteruses, but she couldn't really tell because I'm pregnant. She didn't seem to think it was a big deal, but of course I made the mistake of looking it up on line and it looks like it can be a very big deal... sometimes the internet is just a curse, you know? Anyway, it might be nothing so I'm trying to relax until I hear from my doctor...which hopefully will be soon. This is nerve wracking!

Wishing an end to spotting for all and lots of relaxing vibes in the meantime.

Ugh, my spotting has gotten worse. I just had an ultrasound yesterday and everything looked great, but now I'm feeling crampy and the spotting is trending redder. Still brown, but more toward red than it has been. Ugh!

Could it be related to the pap smear I had yesterday? I've never had spotting because of one before.
