I know that having something between baby and carseat is a no-no.
How-a-bout something between the carseat and the car's seat?
Our friend, has 2 DD, told us that carseats really tear up the car's seat. The best way he found to combat that is to use heavy cardboard between the two.
I'm really skeptical about this. My first instinct is to say this is a no-no and is dangerous. Does someone know for sure so I'm not just going off gut feeling here?
(i'm not really feeling his carseat knowledge here as he didn't known carseats had an expiration date)

I really prefer (as do most carseat manufacturers) to have nothing between the vehicle seat and the carseat. If they really did damage to seats, I would defitely be adding something to my brand new 06 van, but I don't b/c it's a non-issue. I find you get more wear and tear on vehicle seats from improperly secured seats b/c they tend to slide around and wear the interior.
