Anyone else at the beginning of a Clomid cycle? - Page 3

Last cycle I took it on CD 3-7 and O'd on CD 15. I think this cycle I'm going to try CD 5-9 instead, so we'll see what happens!
Thanks for the replies everyone. I think it depends on your body. When I took clomid last time I did 5-9 a few months and O'd on cd17 and when I took it 3-7 a few months I o'd on cd 17 so it didn't matter when I took it, my body just wanted to O on cd 17 so i hope it is doing that again.

I've actually decided to try cd 4-8. I felt bad about abandoning 3-7 since my dr told me to take it on those days, but I'll be out of town this month on the 1st possible O date (based on 5-8 days after last pill), so I figured it wouldn't hurt to bump it up 1 day. I guess we'll see!

In fact, I think I can feel my right ovary (aches off and on every now and then... again, not severe). Did you experience this? Seems unlikely that I would be hyperstimulated after just 1 cycle of 50mg. Since I'm not seeing an RE, I don't get as much feedback from my doc.

Im not sure girly... All I know is what I experianced and what dr told me. I saw him once a month for the first three cycles of clomid to make sure it was working correctly... Now he wants to wait 14weeks wich will be after my 6th month on clomid to do any surgery incase i have a blockage. Here is a run down of symptoms from my three month on clomid...

1st cycle 50mg of clomid. I threw up a few mornings after i finished the pills. I also had severe mood swings. I am not sure if I o'd... I only had mild cramping around o time, but hardly any cm...

2nd cycle 100mg of clomid. Morning sickness was there, but I didnt throw up. I was still moody, but more so depressed and cryed alot. I had a litte stronger cramping around o time, but severe lower back pain 11/2 weeks before AF showed up. So severe that I had to use a heating pad almost every night, and couldnt really sleep.

3rd cycle 100mg of clomid. No morning sickness, yet still a little moody. I had Lots and lots of cm a few days before positive opk. This month I even had a very dark line as opposed to the other months, the line wasn't as dark.. This line appeared around 6:00pm the day before I felt the strong cramping from the left side. I was in the city going to the store with my sister. I got out of the car and could barly take a step. When we got to her house, I went to the room and layed down. The pain was so sever, I thought something was wrong!!! When I told dr about this just yesterday, he said that was probably the first time I actually O'd. It was on cd17 and I took my pills wrong by mistake. I took one 50mg pill on cd3 (I forgot to take the two to make it 100mg) then days 4-7 I took two, and on day 8 i took the remaining pill. I thought that it would mess up my cycle... But I o'd. I hope that helped a little bit

Now I am waiting on implantation... I am wanting someone to tell me how long that usually takes and if you can feel anything?
11yrsnokid- Good luck! I didn't feel implantation with DS and had no implantation bleeding. I actually didn't even think about being PG since we had gone 15mo without any Pg. I was temping, charting, took clomid, had un explained infertility but didn't do anything that month since we were in the middle of moving. It was a complete surprise. I think the eggis so small there usually isn't anything we feel. This cycle sounds promising for you.:

11yrs... thanks so much for the feedback. My DP has now said that I shouldn't take the medicine at all this month because I've been dizzy and nauseus for the last 2 days in addition to the cramping (not to mention the depression). I can't believe I'm going to take a break after just 1 cycle... I never imagined it would be such a powerful drug.

Implantation typically occurs 6-12 days after ovulation. Some people experience cramping (similar to af) and spotting around the time of implantation. Others don't really notice any symptoms. If you're temping, some people notice a dip in temp around the time of implantation. Good luck... keeping my fingers crossed that this is the cycle for you!!!!

Thanks you guys!!! I hope so too. Eleven years is a long time to be with someone and not have any children... I am only 27 years old, thank God i started early!!!

The only feelings I am having now is Gassy and intergestion.... This could just be me....

I don't think you should stop the clomid. It hit me hard the first cycle, but the second cycle was nothing!!! And this third cycle the only pain i had was ovulation!!!! Wether you take it now or later, at least now you already had the first cycle blues... If you wait and start clomid again later then you will probably have the same first time experiance as opposed to taking in now while your body is getting use to it!!! PLease!!!

When I woke up today, I wanted to try again. Sooo, I'm going to take the first pill tomorrow! I hope I don't end up feeling like crap all month... maybe it'll end up being worth it, though! I just hope I ovulate from taking it cd 4-8 instead of 3-7... I suppose it probably won't make that big of a difference. Anyway, thanks for the encouragment... keep us informed if you find out anything!!!!!

i just started the meds to induce a period so i can start the clomid. i had a long lingering period that hadn't quite stopped so the doc gave me ovcon to stop the period and then start a new one. i took them as prescribed and i am so sick! i had to start with 4 pills and i took them last night and i woke up incredibly naseous. i guess the protocol is 4 tabs for the first 3 days, then 3 pills for the next 3 days, then 2..., then 1....the bleeding should stop in the next few days, stay stopped for a few weeks while i'm doing the lower doses and then when i stop completely a new period should start. then i will do the clomid on day 5. has anyone had to do this to start their cycle before? in the past i just did provera to induce a period and it didn't make me sick, but since the bleeding hasn't fully stopped since the last period, the doc prescribed this alternative protocol.
I did the provera back in 2001 for 10days to induce period.... Since then I have had 35-48 day cycles until I started the metformin to regulate my periods... then it took 5 cycles to get them down to 30-32days... I never had to do what you did. My problem wasn't with constant AF, she sometimes wouldnt visit but twice a year.

Today is CD17 ad still no + on the OPKs or my monitor. I know I am getting close because y CP is higher and softer and I can't reach my OS. I hope I get a surge by this afternoon since DH leaves town tomorrow morning: I am going to convince him to BD 2 times today so I can make sure there are enough troops sent in. :
Jen>>> Thats always good to make sure you have enough troops. My dr says to do it as much as we can when I get a positive opk... He said that animals in the wild do, so we should too!!!

Crunchy>> Clomid makes it so hard for people to stand you. I was so moody that my husband couldnt stand to be around me. He just admitted that to me a few days ago. It was a wake up call. Now when i feel the urge to yell or snap at someone... I just go off by my self and think.... I try to keep it all in, but it makes me cry sometimes. I know we all over react to everything while on clomid.

Electric>> Im glad you decided to stick with it!!! I mean everything comes at a cost, and it is a small price to pay to make sure you O so you can have that little bundle of Joy!!!

Christym>>> I take clomid on days 3-7 also... the first cycle i o'd on day 15 and not sure on second cycle... third cycle i 0'd on cd 17 for sure. They say its 5-8 days after your last pill, but that is only a estimate. I would suggest getting plenty of opks and start taking them on cd9. If opks dont work for you because of pcos... eventually they will... I have pcos and all symptoms... this third round of clomid is the first cycle that my opks were definate...

Mom2>> You have a long road ahead of you, but its a great start. Sometimes it feels like the meds just aren't working, but it takes time. I would aslo suggest start taking fish-oil and evening primerose oil. they can be purchased at walmart in the vitamins section. Look them up on the internet to learn about them, they are good for you. It is suppose to take a while to work thats why i say start now, by the time its time to ttc they should be in your system and doing there job...

Well I am 8dpo.... I have this weird bitter toothpaste taste in my mouth. My husband just kissed me and said, wow woman did you just brush your teeth. I told him no, I did this morning, but not recently. He said what is that taste... I said that is the bitter taste I was telling you about last night. I tried to drink a beer last night and it kept tasting like I just brushed my teeth. What is that????

11yrs... when are you going to test????? I'm really hoping that funny taste is an early pg symptom for you!

I'm glad I decided to go for another cycle... so far no symptoms (2nd pill today) at all. Last cycle, I did have some nausea and hot flashes while taking the pills, so this is a good sign that maybe my side effects won't be as bad this month. However, my moods are still pretty messed up. I've felt like crying off and on all day! In all fairness, though, I do have a lot of family crap going on right now... including a mom who thinks I should wait a while to have a baby (despite that I'm almost 30 and have a stable relationship that I've been in for almost 6 years!)..ugh!!!

Jen, be sure and let us know when you get a +OPK!!! They say those lil swimmers can live for a few days at least, so hopefully everything will work out.

I was gonna wait till jan 14th. That is when af is due, but i don't know. I might break down and buy one tomorrow and test tuesday. I should really wait till next week... but hey who knows... I would love to get a bfp for the first time ever in my life... I wouldn't know how to tell my husband. The first time I asked him many many years ago, "what would you do if i told you i was pregnant?" He said i would cut flips up and down the street.... Now I am wanting to do something unforgetable to tell him... Like maybe put the crib together while he isn't home and send him in the guest room to see it has been turned into the nursery... The only problem with that is we have a guest that hasn't left yet and i dont know how long he plans on staying... hopefully not too long. Maybe i will take him somewhere special and hand him a cigar... any suggestions??? Im may not be pg yet, but it doesn't hurt to plan early... Can I ask you all a personal question about bd... I have been wondering, but thought it might be a little personal to put out there, but I really need to know.... It has to do with the male reproductive organ... If you all say its okay then i will ask next time I poast.. If not then i will not bother....

Personal Info Inside Beware....(TMI)

Okay here goes... You know that everytime you bd your dh presses in as far as he can when he finishes... Well, if he is well endowed if he presses in as far as he can then is that a bad thing. I guess I am asking is there such a thing is being too far inside? Like when I am not near O, I can fell him hitting something and it hurts... but when I am near O, what ever he was hitting isn't there or is open so there is no pain.... Am I making sense??? This is really a serious question and I hope I didn't offend anyone.

ok, This is what I READ recently, so bear with me...

The position of your cervix will vary within your cycle. It will be low in the first phase and start to rise closer to ovulation and then will lower again after ovulation has occurred. When checking for the first time and are unsure what low or high should feel like, when high your cervix is almost unreachable with you fingertip.

Dont worry I have always wondered why a doc's fingers can reach up there and feel the opening of the cervix but you can BD w/ a man who is well endowed and it not feel like "ramming against a closed door"
