How long did you wait to DTD?

Hayleah is 1 week old today. I'm sure it was at least 3 weeks before dh & I dtd after my last pg's, but this time I didn't need stitches & am feeling fine & the lochia is nonexhistant most of the time, so I'm considering dtd.

When did you & your dh/so resume "activity"?

6-8 weeks, I have had stitches both times.

I've never torn nor had stitches, but I think I did wait for a few weeks--but the best advice I ever heard was to get some lube and just do it--it is going to hurt a bit anyway so just go slowly, and it is really good to never stop doing the kegels...

I honestly don't remember when we resumed dtd after DD - around a month or so ?

I had stitches both time. We waited 6 wks with ds1 and it was too soon. We waited 8 wks with ds2 and that was much better.

I think we waited maybe a week after most of the births. : It was so nice to not have that big belly in the way!! LOL. Sara

I had a pretty bad 3rd degree tear with dd#1 and so we waited 8 weeks. it hurt for like 18 months.

I think it was around 6 months PP and we didn't really start having a "normal" relationship until closer to 10 months.

I have led my DH to believe that he has to wait until the follow-up appt. Besides, he is an RN, and knows that "it" needs rest before starting back up again...

Maybe 11 or 12 weeks w/DD? I had 2 2nd-degree tears. It was quite painful for a while.

I also had lochia for closer to 8 weeks.

I had stitches with my first, and waited the full 6 weeks. This time around there was no tearing and I'm feeling more normal already, so I was thinking as soon as the lochia tapered off... maybe!

I was more than ready after the first two, and while I enjoyed it the first time after this baby, I had lots of burning with urination for about 2 hours afterwards. We waited til 12 days to do it again, and all was well.

We waited about 3 weeks, and that was fine. I had a small tear but no stitches, so we waited for that to heal.

I'm healed, but we have not attempted just yet, though we have done "other stuff" and that has been fine. I imagine it will be soon- at this point it is more a matter of finding the time. I'm 5 weeks postpartum.
