Hey ladies! I'm brand new to the group. Due about 8/21/07. I'm carrying a second surrogate pregnancy for the same couple. I carried their daughter born in August 05. We transferred on the same day only two years later, so the same due date, just two years later! It just ended up that way out of sheer luck! I am a gestational surrogate, so the babies are their genetic child, and I'm just the 'oven'. Her mama induced lactation last time and nursed Charlotte for 13 whole months!! WHOOHOO! She'll be doing it again too!

So, who else is here? Intros!!

Welcome Holly! Wow, surrogacy is cool! What a gift you can give to that couple! WTG for the mama to induce lactation! Did you BF or pump for Charlotte at all, for the colostrum?

I'm preggo with our baby #2 due about the 14th.

I did! I pumped for 13 weeks. She needed supplement initially. I also donated to an adoptive mom here on MDC I pumped 60-66 ounces a DAY! My hubby called our freezer...the milk bank LOL

Hi Holly! I am really happy for you and the family you are doing this wonderful thing for.

I have been reading a bit in July and August, and guess I should probably plant my feet on the 'August' side. I am just 7 1/2 weeks pregnant and usually go late--so even though my DD is July 28th, I bet it will be in August.

I had a miscarriage a little over 2 years ago at 18 weeks, and am really praying that I can hold on to this little one.

Holly, all I can say is, what a gift.

I am in my 5th week with baby #2. Had a loss in August, so I'm just really focusing all my energy on encouraging this coffee bean of mine to stick. The software are at odds with each other, and with me over when my O date was. I should be due between 8/17 and 8/21.

Yay! I'm so happy we're in the 'club' together Morwenna! So, I say you MUST stay in August, no doubt about it I'll be sending sticky vibes to you for this wee little bundle.

Judi, I'll send you the same super stick vibes! The 17th and 21st are both good days Surro daughter was born on the 17th of Aug but due on the 21st And...in the end....they come when they want...so i say...pick the later due date! That way...you can go 'later' without being overdue yet I have an IRL friend who always goes late so she just 'adds' two weeks to her due date right off the bat for everyone, so she won't get 'those calls' about is the baby here yet????

I am new to the Mothering forums, although I have been lurking for a while. Just found out we're pregnant with #3. I'll have to change my signature eventually I guess, #3 was a surprise. Well, to dh at least

And I wanted to say to all the mommies that had a loss.... I had a cousin that was able to get pregnant easily, but had the problem with losing them. I suggested she go to a chiropractor and she was able to keep the next one and dd was born. Not to say it will work for everyone, but I am a huge supporter of chiropractic!

Oh, and what an amazing thing to be a surrogate. Kudos to you!

Holly, what a gift! I love being pregnant and birthing babies and would consider being a GS myself. I'm excited to see your journey.
I'm Kristen, mama to Lukas who is turning 2 on Saturday. We've been trying for this little bug since March and finally got lucky! It was a little bit of a struggle since Lukas was a surprise, I had no idea we'd ever have to actually "try". After a lot of tries at things like chiropractic, accupuncture, accupressure, herbs and lots of BD, it seems that a trip to Cabo San Lucas over Thanksgiving gave us our little Mexican Jumping Bean baby. We're very excited. I'm so excited to meet all of you and share the next 9 months.

Welcome everyone! And heyyyy Donna I'm so excited to see if #9 is a girl like I think

She induced lactation using the Goldfarb protocol I think it's called. It's the extended protocol from Ask Lenore. She starts her meds as soon as I get a pos pg test--Birth Control pills back to back to simulate 'pregnancy' and no period (though she doesn't have a uterus anyway, but does have her ovaries, so the hormones need to be supressed), and then eventually adding in Domperidone and lots of herbs. She was taking like 30 something pills a day at one point! Like 26 of those were supplement/vitamin pills though...but still that is a LOT to swallow!

I think I might be pregnant, havent confirmed yet with preg test. I'll be late tomorrow so we'll see! I've got all the symptoms and if I am I'll be due Aug 28th. according to one of those calculating website.
