This bloke has not obviously read the thread about HCG contamination in the tetanus vaccine given out specifically to women of a certain age range in South America. I've bolded and put in red the name of the person I'm speaking of , and I respectfully suggest he cut his own vas deferens without anesthesia.

Environmentalists can cut the global emissions of "climate" altering greenhouse gases by destroying the world's economy or reducing the human population (h/t Moonbattery). Fred Singer, the coauthor of Unstoppable Global Warming — Every 1,500 Years, argues that those two options, the only real options for any true "climate change" advocate, are entirely unnecessary (and outrageous) because manmade emissions don't account for the cyclical climate changes that the Earth endures naturally.

Not all scientists think that the only solution is doing nothing, and one of them is Melbourne neuroscientist Dr John Reid who believes that while science can't rescue humanity from its impact on the world's climate directly, it can control the human population through involuntary sterilization (h/t Tim Blair):

And there, in a nutshell, is why, no matter how bad I hate the Republican party...I can't fully endorse the liberals, either.

There's a branch of marketing that is specifically devoted to the science of marketing the end of the world. Seriously. The art of marketing Armageddon scenarios. Sounds crazy, but it's true.
And of course, "public health" is a target.

When I was a Christian, I thought "everything is going to be ok" because "God is in control".
When I became an atheist, it was very tempting to transfer that magical thinking to "science will save the day".
I am still, and always will be, very very very pro-science. I love science. In fact, if anything does happen to save the day, I'm sure it will be science.
But I'm not going to stick my fingers in my ears and start yelling "LalalaIcan'thearyoulalalala" when industries are raising their eyebrows at the opportunities they see.
Because paranoia can actually be quite profitable.

Everybody wants to save the world. Humans have an altruistic nature that is good. But that "save the world" altruism can turn quite nasty and delusional in a heartbeat. And if there is a profit to be made, industry will do whatever it takes to "partner" with whoever they need to, and "invest" in "public good". They'll hire "key opinion leaders" to "inform" me and you and granma about what's really going on. What we really need.

And before you know it, last week's theory is now absolutely true, and only a very bad, mean person would disagree.

Quote:
Abstract: States that knowledge drawn from relevant dimensions of reality answers questions about the ultimate end of the world. Marketing technologies are appropriate means for achieving four states that reduce probabilities of an apocalyptic doomsday: population stabilization, health maintenance, conflict resolution and ecosystem renewal. Marketing knowledge can answer eschatological questions by organizing information feedback of market response, co-operative efforts in trading networks, executing mutually beneficial market exchanges and social learning that diffuses new products and ideas. By imposing penalties and rewards that can direct all market participants towards a sustainable society, marketing technologies have the potential to encourage sustainable development rather than apocalypse.
