no allergies while pregnant/nursing - allergies back after weaning - help!

Hello,

I'm trying to find out if anyone has had this experience. I developed allergies in my late 20's. They went away when I was pregnant with my first and stay gone while I nurse. I'm just weaning my second babe and my allergies are returning with a vengeance. I've never been able to figure out what I'm allergic to but obviously it's hormonally related. I finally got my period back today (after two years post-partum!). I'm thrilled but these allergies are killing me. Ideas?

Thanks, Deb

Severity of allergies has definitely been linked to hormones. But it can go either way. WIth 2 of my pregnancies, my allergies (milk and eggs) seemed to completely disappear, but w/ the 3rd my egg allergy got so bad I was afraid of anaphylaxis. Your allergies can also change completely (as in lose some or gain some) w/ the hormonal surge of pregnancy.
