blood tinged discharge.. Should I worry?

Hello mamas,
I am now about 33 weeks pregnant and I have been experiencing some light brownish blood discharge off and on. It really isnt much blood, it just tints the normal discharge that I have. It happened the first time for about 24 hrs and then it went away for a couple weeks and then yesterday i noticed that it had returned and its been over 24 hrs and its still there. I just went to my midwife yesterday and the babys doing well and i mentioned to her what was going on and she asked me if I wanted her to check me to see if I was dialating, and i said sure but then we went on to other things and started talking and forgot about it. She didnt seem to concerned though, I was just wondering if anyone else was going through this or If I should be concerned at all. Is this a sign of prelabor? Thanks so much.

pink egg white discharge can mean your cervix is dilating.

you can check your own cervix if you want, there is a sticky at the top of this forum that tells you how.

at this point in your pregnancy, if you have ther children, your cervix will be starting to change in preperation for birth. you just want to may sure that it's not open more than a finger tip and it's still firm and long.

I have also been experiencing this. I've never experienced it before.

I would keep track of how long it lasts and if it is on and off for lengthy periods of time then I would mention it to my midwife again. If its infrequent, I'd listen to the pp.

I have a friend who ended up having some kind of complication, and she knew becuase she was bleeding fairly regularly for three or four weeks. She and her doctor weren't worried at first, but when it became a regular thing then they started to worry. She was on bedrest for a few weeks and now has a healthy babe.

Hello... Thanks for the replys. As of right now the discharge has stopped and I hope it stays that way. I tried to check my cervix and I couldnt really find it Everythings mush like she said... I'll keep an eye on it and ask my midwife about it next time i see her. Thanks for all the input!
